The location of penance homestay is in kirtipur-4, kharikobot ,,,due to some bug its written khokana but i recommend you to look it up on map,, the homestay is in a hill from which one can view the whole kathmandu valley... surrounded by nature in a very calming place.
there's thousand step buddha with a huge statue of lord buddha just 5-10 minutes walk from the homestay,, macchendranath temple is also located just below the thousand step buddha about 10 minutes walk from there.. there also is a macchegaun buddha temple just a little uphill from the homestay.. the neighbourhood is also very calm with no noise perfect for meditation also,,you may also get a chance to see some wild animals such as deer,, cheetha , etc. capital city kathmandu whole valley can be seen in one glance, a beautiful city view in day as well as night time. Mountain ranges including Mt. Everest can be seen clearly. Different kind of birds sound makes everyone spellbound.
