Welcome to the brand new The Mayflower Cottage. Just completed in December 2023, the Cottage was built purposefully to provide luxury accommodation for visitors to relax and enjoy in beautiful Te Anau. The Cottage has 2 studio units that are lavishly appointed to the highest level of design. The attention to detail combined with the prime location puts The Mayflower Cottage in a class of its own, Beautifully appointed with soft white towels, high quality bed linen, 100% wool blankets and 100% Alpaca duvet inners right down to the silver cutlery! Indoor/outdoor flow to cottage garden with seating. Enjoy a wine in the garden while overlooking the majestic mountains.
Welcome to The Mayflower Cottage. My name is Dianne and I am a born and bred Southlander, living all my life in Invercargill. It has been an absolute pleasure completing and bringing The Mayflower Cottage to the accommodation market in beautiful Te Anau and sharing this with you. The Cottage was designed by myself, named after my late mother, and built by my son. We have strong family links to Te Anau and I would describe it as 'a piece of paradise', Having spent many family holidays here as a child, it is my most favourite place in the world. I work as an Architectural Designer and I have done many plans for new homes in the Te Anau area. I have a passion for horses, racing and breeding pacers in the harness racing industry. I live with my partner Don on the outskirts of Invercargill on a small lifestyle block where we enjoy the country lifestyle, horses in the paddock, our berry garden to care for, and sharing life with our children and grandchildren. I hope you enjoy exploring our piece of paradise, its breathtaking scenery and many adventures, and leave with some wonderful memories! Or hire an e-bike and bike the lake to lake trail taking you from Lake Te Anau to beautiful Lake Manapouri. Don't leave town until you have visited the world renowned Milford Sound, often described as the eighth wonder of the world. Doubtful Sound is on a par with Milford Sound with it's breathtaking scenery in a wilderness of beauty. Te Anau offers award winning restaurants, delicatable food at our cafes and local beers and wines,. Don't miss out on visiting the Cinema to watch Ata Whenua in the comfortable lounge chairs.
