Okauia Lodge has 2 types of accommodation.
King Studio known as the cabin and The Kaimai King Studio.
Okauia Lodge is the gateway to Hobbiton, Wairere Falls, Tauranga, Rotorua, Waitomo Caves. A great location for using as a base.
Okauia Lodge is a charming retreat in the Waikato region of New Zealand. It offers a mix of relaxation and adventure, set against the backdrop of beautiful natural landscapes. Here are some highlights of what Okauia Lodge has to offer:
1. **Scenic Surroundings: ** The lodge is nestled in a picturesque rural setting, providing guests with stunning views of rolling hills, native bush, and distant mountains.
2. **Comfortable Accommodation: ** Okauia Lodge offers cozy and well-appointed cabin, designed to provide a comfortable and restful stay. The Cabin features modern amenities while retaining a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The Cabin is set off from the main house, it boosts a King Bed with ensuite and a kitchenette that has the latest coffee machine, microwave, electric jug, toaster, sandwich maker, fridge/freezer.
Okauia Lodge has a bbq for those staying longer who want to stay in and cook, relax and enjoy the magic of the mountains and enjoy the outdoors.
BBq is located on the patio with outdoor dining.
We offer continental breakfast daily.
So, take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. Relax on the deck and look down the valley right thru to the Kaimai Ranges. Only 7km from Matamata & Hobbiton.
The property is a starting point to exploring the surrounding countryside. The lodge’s location makes it an excellent base for discovering the natural beauty of the surrounding areas.
We are a working lifestyle farm with sheep, cows, and hens.
We love the fact that you can enjoy your own oasis, completely private, but on hand should you need us.
Okauia Lodge is the home of Alyson & Tim.
Alyson was born & bred in Matamata and left as a teenager to go to the big smoke of Auckland.
Tim was born in England and came to NZ as a teenager.
Alyson & Tim have returned to Matamata this year 2023.
Alyson works from home as a Travel broker and also escorts tours to India.
Tim has been in Transport since he was young and still runs a transport company in Auckland.
We are looking forward to welcoming our visitors. We hike and bike ride and enjoy the outdoor life.
We work our small farm so at anytime you can see the animals on the farm.
Opal Hot springs are only 3km down the road so can unwind in the hot pools. if you want great walking tracks Wairere Falls is only 7km away. Matamata Information Centre and Hobbiton bus tour is only 7kms.
Also we are 3km away from the Matamata to Paeora bike trail.
