Our garden is therefore freely accessible and you can use all the seats. This way you can relax in the orchard that generously provides us with fruit. You are completely free to pick the ripe fruit and eat it immediately: grapes, blackberries, apples, pears, figs, pomegranate, cherries, nipples. kiwi and further what I forgot to mention here. You can also sink into the kelem cushions on the oriental terrace or retreat with a book in the flower garden. Bed and Breakfast Casa Traca, the butterfly house. A small-scale and inCasa Traca, the moth house. A house where you can stay for one or more nights in peace. Would you like to come along to eat this in time and it is possible! We aim for a homogeneous atmosphere where you can find the authentic Portuguese atmosphere and mentality. Casa Traca is located in the small village of Valbona. The villagers are hospitable and inclined to show their beautiful village. You must have a small Portuguese vocabulary for this. We have 4 wonderful rooms, each with its own atmosphere and theme. So you will find the Classic Room, a romantic room on the ground floor with private bathroom. Upstairs we have 3 rooms with a shared large luxury bathroom: the Retro room which takes you back in time to the 70's of the last century, the Far East Room where you feel like a real missionary or explorer and the Byzantine room where you imagine yourself in the oriental spheres of 1001 night. This last room has a large private balcony with a seat. Here is the possibility for 2 extra berths at an additional cost. The Retro room is very generous in size and here an extra bed can be placed at a small additional cost.

At the foot of the highest mountain on the mainland of Portugal, at the foot of the Estrela Mountains you will find Casa Traca in one offshoot: Monte Alto in the Serra do Açor. In this area are many rivers, waterfalls (Fraga da Pena), beautiful green forests and valleys, historic towns and villages (Piódão). There is also much organized in the many places (Arganil, Tabua, Coja, Goïs and much more) around Casa Traca such as music, culture and theater festivals, but also motorcrossing and rally driving. This is all within a radius of 30 kilometers around Casa Traca. For example, the national championship rally driving, time trial driving, is always driven on the mountain with us. Coimbra, the university city of Portugal with the largest library in Europe, is a 45-minute drive away. Well worth a visit! Don't feel like going by car? You can go there completely by canoe. A little more to the north it is a true paradise for birdwatchers: a large group of griffon vultures live here! For the hikers among you: we offer various hiking options under the guidance of an experienced guide. In the neighborhood also many river beaches for a day of relaxing, sunbathing and especially enjoying!
