The living area is divided up by a stylish marble counter with bar stools. The open plan kitchen has a cooker, microwave, coffee machine, washing machine and a fridge-freezer. The sand-coloured floor tiles have a mediterranean flair and the couch landscape invites you to lay back to read and relax. Ceiling-high sliding doors in the lounge and the master bedroom lead out to the balconies, adding to „Blue Sea“’s spacious feel and individual character. The bedrooms offer a comfortable interior with fitted wardrobes and twin beds (that can be used as double or single beds). Furthermore there is a luxury bathroom, with wash basin , shower, bath and bidet as well a a second seperate guest toilet with wash basin. The appartment has free WiFi/TV. Paul from Manchester, Almuth from Stralsund. Resident in Hamburg. We got to know Paul do Mar 14 years ago when our daughter was on the way. Been coming back ever since and finally bought an apartment in 2018.

The modern, elegant building consists of 6 appartments situated on the site of a former fish factory. The only reminder of the past is the chimney that stands unter a preservation order. In this authentic fishing village, that has hardly been affected by tourism, you can find several restaurants, bars, a bakery and a very well sorted minimarket, all of which can easily be reached by foot. Down at the harbour you can buy fish directly fom the fishermen. A fruit and vegetable van drives regularly through the village. Two surfer bars „Maktub „ and „One love“ are located 500 meters to the western side of Paul do Mar, where the local hipsters meet up. The next larger supermarket with a selection of fresh fish and meat is only a 5 minute drive. In 10 minutes you can drive to the sandy family-friendly beach Calheta Beach, ideal for swimmers and non-swimmers of all ages. It is however possible to bathe in Paul do Mar. Either on the pebbly beach near the harbour or at the end of the promenade , where it is easy to access the sea via a bathing jetty. Paul do Mar is also the starting point for popular walks to Prazeres and Faja da Ovelha. Distance to Funchal 41km. Car recommended
