We have spent the last 15 years working as Captain & Chef to discerning guests on high-end charter yachts in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Pacific. This background in the hospitality industry has been channeled into the total renovation of the old, rundown property we purchased in 2005. The expectations of the guest has been our priority, and we understand the special touches that go to make your vacation comfortable, relaxing and unforgettable. With this in mind and knowing how frustrating it can be renting rural properties and arriving to an empty fridge and cupboards, we provide an extensive starter pack including milk, butter, cold meats, cheese, bread, fruit, tea, coffee, wine and beer along with essentials such as washing up liquid, paper towels, oils and vinegars. etc. Recognising the ever restrictive luggage allowances on flights we also provide toiletries and beach towels

Perched on the slopes of its own 4 acre wooded valley, Quinta do Bom Vento is a traditional Portuguese smallholding now fully renovated offering tasteful and distinctive self-catering accommodation just 5km from Obidos. In less than an hour from Lisbon Airport you can be relaxing on your private terrace, glass of excellent Portuguese wine in hand, gazing at the panoramic vista surrounded by nothing more hectic than birds, butterflies, and the rustle of leaves in the breeze. All Quintinas have their own entrances, are completely self contained, with kitchens and bath/shower rooms, patios, wifi and satellite TV, and are furnished with individuality and flair whilst remaining true to their original Portuguese design. The décor, quality of linens and finishings reflect that they have been treated not as rentals, but rather as homes. Quinta do Bom Vento is ideal for individuals as well as groups who wish to spend time together but still have privacy. A protected central courtyard serves as the social hub.

Quinta do Bom Vento is the perfect base from which to explore the rich and diverse offerings of Portugal’s Silver Coast. We are situated less than 10 minutes from one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal, the medieval town of Obidos. Also less than 10 mins away is Buddha Eden - the largest oriental sculpture garden in Europe. The Silver Coast offers a number of world class golf courses and surf spots all within half an hour’s drive including Nazare where the world’s largest wave was ridden (although we should point out that the conditions that give rise to this phenomenon only occur a few times each winter season). The Obidos lagoon is great for stand up paddleboarding and the beaches along this stretch of coast are both pristine and uncrowded so great for long walks and also offer excellent sea bass fishing. Within an hour’s drive in addition to Lisbon you can reach, amongst others, the stunning castle and palaces of Sintra which date from the 9th century, and two Unesco world heritage sites: the renowned 13th century monastery at Alcobaca, and the splendour of the 16th century monastery at Batalha.
