Avenida da Liberdade, known as the "Little Champs Elysée", is one of the main avenues of Lisbon. With a fantastic cobblestone ("Calçada à Portuguesa"), some statues reprensenting the Tagus river ("Tejo") and many little cafés perfect to rest and take a drink, this avenue is considered as a beautiful spot to discover thanks to its architecture and fairways surrounded by trees. With many luxury brand stores internationally known, such as Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Gucci... this avenue is accessible through 3 different subway stations: "Marquês de Pombal", "Avenida" and "Restauradores". Although considered as an upscale neighborhood, some little and traditionnal streets behind stand out in which you can taste our specialities (cod fish, sardines, barbecue chicken...) in small and tyipcal restaurants, in order to feel a real portuguese environment. Furthermore, its location will give you an easy access to the heart of the center, to the nightlife district ("Bairro Alto") thanks to the Funicular of Gloria ("Elevador da Gloria") and to the opposite side of the city by the oldest funicular of Lisbon ("Elevador da Lavra"). You will be also really close to the "Parque Eduardo VII" by foot to enjoy a beautiful view of Lisbon ! Its renowned makes also of this avenue the main stage of traditional city parades as "Santo António de Lisboa", which takes place on the night of the 12th of june. Regarding the security, this avenue is really safe with numerous of police patrols day and night.
