Hisaronu is Fethiye’s lively resort, set in the mountains above the busy harbour town and the stunning beach of Oludeniz. Closely neighboured with the residential holiday village of Ovacik, there is little to decipher where one begins and the other ends. The resort has one Main Street (200 metres away) that is closed off to traffic in the evening when it fills with tourists and locals browsing the shops, drinking in the bars, or dining in an array of international restaurants. Many also stay out to dance the night away in buzzing nightclubs till the early hours followed by an early morning kebab or bowl of soup in the 24-hour restaurants. Local travel agents sell many repeat excursions including daily boat cruises, jeep safaris, Turkish baths, and visits to nearby villages and points of attractions such as paragliding from the famous Babadag mountain, sightseeing at the scenic picturesque Butterfly Valley or the ancient ruins of Tlos. By far though, the most famous activity is spending summer days on the nearby (almost 5 minutes drive) Olu Deniz beach and Blue Lagoon, of which its beauty is proved in the fact that it is one of the most photographed places in Turkey.
