I am originally from Antalya and visited Kalkan first time in late 80’s and fell in love with this historical place. It was a small village then with great architecture and history. I have spent many years in the hospitality business around the world as a senior manager . My focus and drive is to ensure that , our guests are delighted to stay with us so we pay attention to all details from the moment of reservation until departure . My hobbies are sailing and restoring historical buildings . I have recently retired so travel around the world to enjoy life with the family . I visit Kalkan twice a year to inspect my properties prior to the season starts to make sure everything is in good order . I have been living outside of Turkey for almost 30 years . In 2005 , we visited Kalkan and my late mum liked the historical Customs House as reminiscent of her uncle’s house in old town in Antalya and bought it on the spot as it is in amazing location as a beach property and mum enjoyed swimming on daily basis. I have not rented out for many years as my family enjoyed using the property and I also stayed with my family at each unit at least few weeks a year. My daughters learned about Turkish traditions and culture . Recently, I realized that , I should open it to the public so they can also enjoy the property and surrounding areas. Over the years , I have eaten at many restaurants and used various services from transportation companies to the beach clubs . I am happy to share my experiences on my website as Cetin’s recommendations. I have spent many years in the hospitality business around the world as a senior manager . I would like to highlight the key points of differences when you choose to stay at one of the Customs House Properties. 1)You would stay in historical and landmark building which was constructed in 1854 as one of the remaining listed property. 2) You are only ‘a stone’s throw ‘ to the Kalkan Beach at amazing locations with best views in Kalkan. ( most beautiful photos are taken in front of Customs House ) Each apartment has a sea view . 3) We have been maintaining it for decades and refurbished in 2020 to modernize the bathrooms and the roof while keeping the Ottoman style. 4) Bars , Restaurants, Harbour ,Town Beach Clubs , Shops are all in walking distance. You do not need to queue up for taxis or walk up a steep hill, especially after dinner . 5) Our Property Management Team is available 24/7 if you need any assistance. 6) We provide complementary Wi-Fi , utilities such as AC , water , electricity etc. 7) Due to the location , Customs House Properties have seldom water shortage and we recently installed huge water tank in case of shortage which we did not experience although many areas suffered in 2023 season. 😎 Four apartments with different sizes from 1 bedroom to 3 bedrooms which can be combined for larger groups to holiday together at neighbouring apartments at the same Mansion still retaining its own privacy. 9) Due to global warming , The temperatures rise but you would be feeling cooler inside the house than other places as it was constructed with rocks and stones . As the first building on the beach front , there is always cool breeze which is very nice and pleasant. 10) There are al fresco dining areas / terraces at each apartment 11) We deliver complimentary welcome amenities( essentials ) upon arrival . 12) We are flexible with check- in and out times subject to booking situation.( direct bookings only )

🏖️ BEACH CLUBS Customs house is Located next to Kalkan Public Beach and this amazing location is also very close only 60-80 m to the harbour where shuttle boats departs to various Beach Clubs . I usually go to Indigo which is in walking distance but also enjoyed Zest , Mahal and Lures . 🛍️ SHOPPING I usually buy groceries at Migros or Macro also use other shops in town such as Carrefour SA, Arçelik and Bim.You should also visit the market on Thursdays ( near to Belediye- Municipality ) where you can purchase items at good price ( do not forget to bargain 😂) plus good lunch offerings there . 🚙SIGHTSEEING There are many agencies organising sight seeing tours around Kalkan. There are many to choose from. I used Osman Mutlu for boat trips to Meis twice and I was very happy with the experience. You must try it. Should your time allows , you should visit historical sites :Patara Beach and Ruins , Tlos , Kekova Sunken City , Myra Ruins, Saklıkent Canyon, Mesis (Kastellorizo ) Island ( Greece ) I also enjoy going to Kas for a day and the scenery is beautiful of the coastal road which was rated as one of the best by Conde Nast . There are also daily boat trips organised by many companies from Harbour Front such as Whisper , Adda Tours, Falcon boat ) If you are interested to go to Kekova sunken city , I would recommend to rent a boat from Üçağız ( you need to drive there ) Arzum boat is reliable . 🍷RESTAURANTS and BARS My favourite restaurants are; Coriander, Blue Marlin, Salt and Pepper, ATA, Salonika , Mey and Mezze and Şahika in Bezirgan. Mahal is beautiful for romantic dinners . Bodamya or Degirmen fish farms in Islamlar are also worth visiting for meals. I like Sandal Bar where they make good music and cocktails . The Bar also shows major sport events live there. There are also pool tables and dart. For Turkish desserts, cakes and ice cream , I go to Köşem or Nur Pastahanesi in the city center .
