Bears Among Us is VERY close to DT Gatlinburg, Ober Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Park Entrances. My log home was thankfully not taken during the great fire of 2016 and is made hand-hewn logs unlike all of the newer homes recently built. The bears actively go by my house and often explore my deck or try to get into guests cars. Guests have sent so many pictures over the years. I love Chalet Village North and my house which is not on the main road so much more privacy and little traffic. It is conveniently accessible from two of the main roads. Getting Around is a SNAP. Go down Wiley Oakley to get to Pigeon Forge or down Ski Mountain Road to get to Downtown Gatlinburg. Bears Among Us is on Oak Place which is a road that see's little traffic. There is only two other homes up our road and both sit behind my house. So you can sit on the front porch looking toward Mt. LeConte with you cup of coffee in your PJs. It looks east toward the mountains and we have no other houses below us as so many other do. It is in a more private location in the heart of the mountainside. We see No Roofs and only a view of the Great Smokey Mountain's. We are high enough and away from the road, unlike many homes for rent, so you can jump into the hot tub or trot out to the Charcoal Grill in whatever type of outfit you might have on.

I have been hosting since 2018. My late husband and I fell in love with this area and planned to do many things but cancer took him on 8/31. I decided that my kids and I could still use the beautiful place but I would also become a host so others could enjoy the area as well.

We wanted something that was convenient but off the main roads of Wiley Oakley and Ski Mountain Drive. I wanted a Real Log home. I didn't want to look to my left or right when sitting on my deck and see my neighbor. I wanted to have a view of the National Park. I wanted to be able to go out on my porch in my PJ's or Hot Tub Swim Suit and not worry about someone looking at me. After a many month search found this gem. There were 3 homes up the drive that is at the end of the dead end road on a culda sac. Bears often pass by my house and there is other nature and views. So convenient to the cities of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Drive down Ski Mountain and take a right and you are in the National Forest! This is the place I like to come and hike, relax and enjoy the wonderful mountain peace. But if you want crowds and activities they are 15 minutes away at most (mountain road driving).
