Set in the vicinity of the Attersee Lake, Gasthof Steinbichler provides accommodation with a free sauna and à la carte restaurant serving Austrian cuisine. I was happy to find this guesthouse while randomly searching for a place with a lake view in the area during this low season. A brand new or perfectly renovated house, clean and modern rooms, a million dollar view from the "Deluxe Double Room With Balcony". Doors can be open for the abundance of the fresh air which is important to me. The owner and the staff go the extra mile even when only two rooms were occupied at the time. A nice dinner was served for the guests, and the breakfast was continental but of a very good quality and had everything we needed, fresh. The location is quiet and a good distance from the road. Very green and ecological, even while I'm very far from being a Green party supporter. It's a great starting point for exploring the mountain lakes of the region. The parking is free and a car is a must. There is a playground on the southern side of the building which may become a source of disturbance during the high season, not an issue when empty.
