Location was superb, close to bike hire and China's tuktuk. We rented bikes based on the owner's recommendation for two consecutive days with great value. Two adult bikes and two kids bikes. The only thing I will note is that the shower does not drain quickly enough (so it pools), but this is very minor and did not impact our experience at all. This guest house is excellently located and offers great value for money. It is a five-minute walk from one of the entrances to the old town. It is a very nice hotel and we had a fantastic, spacious room with modern furnishings, which was very clean. There was also a small outdoor terrace and a clothesline for drying clothes. The guest house is run by the owner and his wife, who had a young son. The fact that the owner speaks good English makes things much easier and allows him to recommend other places in beautiful Dali and the surrounding area of Lake Erhai: biking aorund the lake, visiting the nearby town of Xizhou (very beautiful too!) and Zhoucheng (a truly Bai village.) The owner also helped me with some glasses that I had lost on the plane, calling the airport in several occasions. On the day we left, he even took us to the airport in his own car, as he was picking up a friend a little later. If you go to this guest house, be sure to visit the restaurant next door, which specialises in mushrooms (although it serves many other dishes too). You can enjoy your mushrooms in a hot pot. It's a real treat that showcases the flavours of the region, and the staff are extremely friendly and happy to help you try new dishes
