Beautiful suite with multiple terraces. It’s located in a quiet residential area, but close to restaurants and the ancient city. The attention to details, amenities and service are top notch. Upon returning from a hot day of sightseeing, I was given a cool towel. Similarly, the plunge pool was a welcome retreat on a hot afternoon . The room is beautifully furnished and well equipped with tea and coffee and a mini refrigerator. The owner went out of his way to make my stay enjoyable including letting me borrow a bike. Despite an early departure, a wonderful breakfast was waiting for me. My only regret was that I only stayed one night.

He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. It's rich with temples and spiritual atmosphere. Stay at Janaka’s place, ask him for advice, and you won’t be disappointed.

Dining Delights & Pristine Pool For dinner, we were able to enjoy dishes from the owner's restaurant right on the hotel terrace – it was truly luxurious and delicious. The next morning, breakfast was equally impressive with such a wide variety that we couldn't even try everything, and it was all very tasty. The pool was kept perfectly clean by the staff, who cleared leaves daily. I wish I hadn't been injured so I could've taken a dip! Cleanliness & Comfort Our room was spotless, and it was fantastic not to find any insects inside or on the terrace. Plus, shampoo and soap amenities were provided. My stay was wonderful, and this is definitely the hotel I'll choose on my next visit to Sri Lanka. Thank you!
