Not much to see in the center of Athens, other than...
Not much to see in the center of Athens, other than restaurant and souvenir shops.
Maybe there are things to see but not advertised properly, so the visitors do not get to know. We live in Italy and many of our cities offer more in terms of architecture, beautiful squares, churches and cathedrals, beautiful villas and garden.

one point I want to make is that , if you are travelling with the metro, keep your hand in your wallet or do not carry a wallet. there are too many thieves in the metro. they stole my wallet, in a split second, by creating an incident to attract attention. Please be extremely careful

In the Syntagma Square area we visited the Old Palace, the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, the National Garden, the Zapeion, the Zapeion Roman Baths, Hadrian's Arch, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Panathenaic Stadium and the ruins of Aristotle's Gymnasium.
Every hour, the changing of the guard ceremony takes place at the monument to the unknown soldier.

Great square with step up to climb to see Parliament House and the change of guards. There a side path too of you cannot inn steps. The beautiful garden are onky 5 minutes walk away. A, must see. If u walk through garden you are very near the Olympic stadium where the games took place

If you visit Athens and do not go this place and see the changing of the Guards, you are missing out.
A very special place to visit and see for yourself.
Take pictures and a short film of the guard changing.

Fabulous location- Monastiraki metro station isI 100 m from the hotel -you may take a straight train to the airport .Acropolis and Syntagma square are just short walk from the place. 2 meters from the hotel is a very good restaurant. Everything you need for the short stay.
Open plan and spacious room,renovated and very clean(everyday cleaning policy).
And the staff was really nice, effective and supportive -thank you,,guys!

The apartment is fantastic. It’s beautifully decorated, very tidy, and exceptionally clean! We were truly impressed. The area is lovely and pleasant, and we felt completely safe throughout our stay. The owner is extremely kind and the communication was excellent. People in the neighborhood are very friendly and welcoming as well. Everything is conveniently close — it’s about a 20-minute walk to Syntagma Square. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a clean apartment in a quiet part of Athens.

clean & renovated apartment, nice beds, all needed kitchen appliances were available + many extras like olive oil, sauces, etc. Bottles of water were available as a welcoming gesture. The location is very good, Syntagma square is about 2 km walking distance, subway is about 300m away, parking available across the street (extra payment - at a gas station), convenience stores, fast food stores, s/m nearby. Will book again

We stayed at MET34 and it was perfect for a couple.
The location was excellent — just a short walk from Ermou and Syntagma Square.
The facilities were great, clean, and well-maintained.
But above all, Fortis from the reception truly stood out. He was always there for any question or request, one of those people who make you want to come back to the same hotel again!

A perfectly clean hotel, located in Syntagma Square, just a 2-minute walk from the metro. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned every day, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Many thanks to all the staff who made me feel at home. The room also had essentials like an iron, shampoo, and slippers. Acropolis House remains a favorite hotel in Athens. Fabulous location - looking out onto the quietest street in the Plaka, off Syntagma Square, comfortable rooms and exceptional service including a boxed breakfast if needed, and great care & communication should you leave behind any belongings (!!!). A true gem!
