Very friendly and welcoming host family, that provided us with so good recommendations in the area. In their Cafeteria they also offered us drinks and snacks in the afternoon. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean and the area is very quiet. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The heaters in the private rooms and ovens in the communal areas made it feel cozy and warm Event though it can be quite chilly and damp up in the mountains. The garden is like a little park and has some nice sitting areas. Also there is an awesome sunset spot nearby and some walks.

Our stay in this beautiful corner of paradise was simply perfect! The wooden cabins, nestled in nature, offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The view of the mountains is breathtaking, truly a spectacle at any time of day. We really appreciated the tranquility of the place. A big thank you to the staff and especially to the lovely grandmother who delighted us every morning with giant breakfasts, made with love and local products. A gesture that made our stay even more special! We absolutely recommend this place to anyone seeking peace, nature, and an authentic, unforgettable experience.

Trogon Lodge se nachází 1,5 km od centra města San Gerardo de Dota a 9 km od národního parku Los Quetzales. Má velkou zahradu, terasu a gril. Pokoje mají terasu a vlastní koupelnu se sprchou. We loved our 2 night stay at the Trogon lodge. The location was absolutely stunning. The lodge is nestled into the cloud forest, next to a small river that provides a constant background sound that is very soothing. The gardens are spectacular and it was a great pleasure to wander around, look at the flowers, watch the hummingbirds hover or sit in one of the many chairs with a book. Even though it rained a lot it did not dampen our spirits. The room was a good size comfortable and very cozy. It does get cold here at night and we had to use the space heater a few times. The bed was absolutely the most comfortable hotel bed I slept in and as a bonus they brought a hot water bottle in the evening which was a very nice touch. The breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were great and the staff was wonderful - friendly and attentive and put up with our broken Spanish. The property has self-guided hiking trails to explore that are well maintained and offers guided bird-watching tours at an additional cost. We took two and the guides were very knowledgeable and showed us wonderful birds and other small wildlife. We loved how relaxing and peaceful the entire experience was. We can highly recommend this place and still think about our stay often. (We did see the quetzal and it was absolutely stunning)

Our kids loved the place and played with the owner’s kid.
