Located on the Ile d’Oleron, the Hotel Île De Lumière offers direct access to the beach. It has an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court and many other facilities. The location is picture perfect, literally. It is on the western coast of the island, so if there is a sunset, you would see it. On our days, it was rainy, but that simply brought a different kind of beauty. The beaches were mostly empty - we had them to ourselves. There are several ways to get to the beach below, and all are an easy, short walk. Yet, the hotel is elevated, so you have a lovely view of the coastline. The room was light and airy, and very clean. There is plenty of storage space, and a nice shower with plenty of pressure. The bed was very comfortable, and there were room darkening curtains. The hotel was full when we were there, but it was still quiet. Breakfast is not included, but we found it to be worth the price. There was a lot of variety in the pastries offered, along with cheese, meat, boiled eggs, cereal, and fruit. We would recommend this place, and would stay again.

Wonderful rooms furnished with style, extremely helpful and nice hosts, beautiful garden, jacuzzi and a cute cat. What else do you need for a perfect holiday? We only stayed one night but I could imagine a whole summer in these settings.

Located in La Cotinière, the recently renovated Clos des Aigrettes -6 Gîtes de charme et confort à 30m du Port de La Cotinière provides accommodation less than 1 km from Plage de Matha and 13 km from... The location was fantastic. We could walk out of the property, and the sea and shops were just around the corner. We had a top floor gite , which was self contained, with our own private balcony. It was more than what we expected. We wished we could have stayed longer. The cycling routes around the island are great. We will definitely come back and stay at the same accommodation. Great experience. Thanks again.

The hosts are gracious, explained all the amenities, and trust me they have everything, from bread makers to ice machines . The house is so lovely and clean, beds are comfortable and the ability to sit outside…outstanding
