Everything is just nice. We loved the atmosphere! The people that run the place are all so very nice. They always smile at you and are extremely friendly. So far the best place we stayed in Central America. We ca only recommend this place.

In the Rio Dulce river near a 16th century castle the Tortugal Boutique River Lodge peninsula is bathed by almost constant on shore breezes providing a cool and refreshing place. Lovely staff, the food they prepare is really delicious and they're happy to help you out with whatever you might need. Rooms and general facilities are lovely, nested into the lush jungle, hot shower has really good water pressure - stay if you can!

A recently renovated campground located in Miramar, Coco Bamboo Beach Camp features a garden. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Thvaj you so muhc Cacao bamboo team! A nature and bird watchers paradise. So peaceful. And everyone was so friendly and I enjoyed yummy family meals. I had a lovely stay and lots of doggy cuddles too. I really loved the bamboo hut too a the stunning spot Good luck wiht it all and love the bamboo and cacao projects 💜 Katie x

Hotel Posada Stella Maris is set in Puerto Barrios. Featuring a garden, the 5-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. Ollie was exceptionally kind and well connected to get us help with transportation. She is also a great cook. Don Luis was the taxi driver that she connected is with. He is a very honest man. He drove back to the facility to return my phone and charger that I left in the taxi. Funds from this place go to support underprivileged individuals attain working skills.

Casa Caribe Hotel features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a private beach area and shared lounge in Rio Dulce. Wonderful hotel right on the waterfront with a view of the castle. The building is very nice and well maintained. The staff is very helpful. Enrique is the best. The menu is simple but suitable for a few days. Rio Dulce is a 5-minute boat ride away. The sunset is amazing.

Hostal Blood Moon is situated in Rio Dulce and has a plunge pool and pool views. This guest house features free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Super awesome host. Very accommodating and helpful! Included complimentary simple breakfast - pancakes, banana, and coffee freshly made. I arrived with a car so needed a parking space. The parking was available. No issues there. Bed was comfy and clean.

Situated in Rio Dulce, 5.5 km from Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, Hotel Real del Rio features views of the pool. Nice staff and room! It is noisy die to the road but if you live in the city it is the same amount of noise. We were so tired from our trip from Mexico city and went straight to Rio dulce it was easy for us to fall a sleep Also pick up (collectivo/public boat) from the hotel to Livingstone and other river lodges
