This family run hotel is a gem, you should stay there. Everything is so clean by Indian standard it is unbelievable. Nice terrace as well on the roof to get a first view of the Taj Mahal. I also took the dinner prepared by the owner of the place, I shared it with 9 other people staying at the hotel, it was really good.

From helping me get tailored clothes made, to fixing the screen on my phone, to preparing the most delicious meals, to even arranging a local traveler to accompany me to the ghats — they thought of everything. Mohit’s wife cooks the most amazing food, with a huge variety of delicious home-style Indian dishes. I probably ate 70% of my meals here, and every bite was a treat! As a solo woman traveler, I felt completely safe and cared for. When I ran into trouble with a bad Uber driver, they stepped in right away and sorted it out without hesitation. Whatever was on my to-do list, they somehow made it happen. Their home is full of warmth, laughter, and the sweetest little girls you’ll instantly fall in love with. Mohit’s mother also carries such wisdom and clarity in her words that, even when she spoke in Hindi, I found myself understanding. They’re wonderfully creative too — they hand painted uplifting murals to brighten the walls, from a cute panda to a serene Buddha, and they’ve even made cozy seats out of recycled tyre wheels. In the evenings, the open terrace is the perfect place to sit, while doves that have been nesting there for over five years coo gently in the background. The family also runs a small shop, so snacks and drinks are always within easy reach. Compared to the bustle of the city, this place is peaceful and quiet, yet still just a short walk from the Buddhist temples in Sarnath. The rooms are comfortable, with options to suit everyone — from dorms to single rooms and larger family spaces. Truly, this is the BEST place I have ever stayed. If you’re looking for safety, comfort, care, and unforgettable hospitality, look no further — you’ll find it here.
