The guest house was very conveniently located a walking distance from the most beautiful garden we have ever seen (Kenroku-en) and other great attractions. The staff was so helpful and everything worked well. Very cozy and beautiful room, welcoming atmosphere.

Great location in the old town so perfect for early morning walks and ducking back during the day. A western-style hotel in a building that looks traditionally Japanese from the outside, with some nice decorative touches. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice shower/bath area. The staff were helpful in checking us in early and ordering us a taxi to get back to the train station.

Excellent Host. Carmay, the owner makes you feel welcomed the moment you checked in. He offered to pick us up from the train station. There was no need as we drove. Parking was free which was a bonus. Carmay cooked a tasty breakfast, ingredients brought in fresh from his farm. He even provided us with fresh spring water. He also gave us tips where to visit and gave us an excellent suggestion to drive the Shirawago White Road to Tayayama. Staff was genuinely kind and very capable at the same time. Superb coffee & breakfast was delicious and fresh. Many thanks to Riyoko especially for all her help in dinner recommendations/reservation and serving our breakfast. Highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed.

Layout of the space was great. I liked the separation of living vs kitchen. Having the toilet and shower/sink separated was convenient with several people staying together. Extremely clean! Very spacious. Having a washing machine and drying line was great! The bath/shower room has a fantastic fan/heating system so you can easily dry your clothing overnight. One of my favourite hotels in Japan so far. Easy 8-10 min walk to train station. Easy walk to most attractions. Great cafe just a few doors down. Kitchen was well stocked with what you need for an easy meal.
