The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is spacious. We are a bit ambiguous about the location: at one hand, it is very convenient for finding many restaurants nearby and for taking train or subways, on the other hand the many trains do make some noises also during later evening and early morning. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there very much.

In a prime location in the centre of Kyoto, Kyoto Umekoji Kadensho is within 1.7 km of Kyoto Station and 1.8 km of TKP Garden City Kyoto. the look and feel of this hotel totally exceeded my expectations. very japanese style and has private onsen which we really liked. japanese style breakfast was really good and they have a huge variety of food. rooms are kind of small but this is expected in Japan so we are not that concerned.

Incredibly well maintained, beautiful, well designed rooms, super clean with excellent amenities (free toiletries and slippers). The staff are lovely and helpful and most of time at least one on the team available speaks English. If not, we got by with our google translate app. Skip the coffee you make yourself in your room and head to the drink counter in the lobby open from 6:00 - 11:00 AM. It’s free and way better.
