Located in Gokase, 47 km from Mount Aso, Guesthouse EL CAMPO features a bar and views of the mountain. This guest house provides free private parking and bicycle parking. Accomodation was a beautiful log cabin in the Miyazaki countryside! The facilities were clean and modern, and the bed was so comfortable!! There were so many thoughtful touches, like having spare pairs of crocs outside the cabin, having salt and cooking oil in the kitchen, having tea and coffee sachets. You can also park directly in front of your cabin which is very convenient. We reserved the course dinner offered by the host and it was delicious!! The host was also the chef (and the bartender) and we had a great time chatting to him in English and Japanese about the locally sourced ingredients and his very well-stocked bar. Thanks for such a lovely night Keita!! Next time we will need to stay even longer, so we can use the fireplace and enjoy more of the peaceful countryside. We had a wonderful stay, highly recommend El Campo.

Set 29 km from Totoro-kō, Le Lodge Mimitsu offers a garden, and air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. This was truly one of the best stays we had in Kyushu. The lodge was spacious and had all the amenities necessary for a pleasant stay. The service was top-notch and its close proximity to the river (where you can swim) made it even better.

Located in Hyuga and only 24 km from Totoro-kō, Guesthouse ＆ Beach Cafe Fuego provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Close to the beach. Excellent staff, Yukie in particular is wonderful and made my trip feel so welcoming. Facilities are tidy and well kept. The facilities are traditional which is nice. The food at the Fuego cafe is excellent and affordable.

Opened in April 2014 after a thorough renovation, this ryokan features spacious guest rooms surrounded by tranquil mountains. This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed at during our trip. Set right against the mountain, surrounded by lush green trees and a river running right below us…it was spectacular to see. The onsens were lovely and we used the private onsen right beside the main building.

Featuring 5-star accommodation, Ryokan Shinsen is located in Takachiho, 600 metres from Takachiho Shrine and 1.8 km from Takachiho Gorge Freshwater Fish Aquarium. Incredible property and the ryokan was immaculate, tranquil and friendly. The staff were all wonderful and the owner is very kind. We were late to our gorge boat and she gave us a lift in the van. The meals were also wonderful. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Thank you again!

Offering free WiFi and free private parking, The triangle hub Miyazaki is located in Miyazaki, within just 1.4 km of Miyazaki Station. The property was so spacious and clean. The lounge room was perfect for socialising. Each room had an aircon unit. Check in and check out was done on a table. Super quick and easy. Pre- checkin Instructions were clear and easy to understand. We wish we could have stayed longer.
