Located in Gokase, 47 km from Mount Aso, Guesthouse EL CAMPO features a bar and views of the mountain. This guest house provides free private parking and bicycle parking. location was a bit far from the main town, but within 10-15 mins driving so it was not an issue. the house was spacious and wide, easily able to fit everyone in without feeling cramped. bonus was the 2 bathrooms, so there was no long waiting time amongst friends. kitchen had everything you need, even though we didn't cook. beds were comfortable, the a/c/heater was new, nothing to complain about. the bar master (and i think owner of the place too) was super friendly, had a good time chatting with him through the night. the bar/restaurant was also super cozy if you wanted to work outside the room.

One of the best places I’ve stayed at during my time in Japan! The room is comfortable, the view from the shared kitchen is amazing and the hosts are really nice and helpful. I didn’t have a car but there’s a bus stop nearby with 4-5 busses a day in each direction - so if you wanna visit Aoshima or Udo Jingu it‘s easily accessible from there, even without a car!

Featuring 5-star accommodation, Ryokan Shinsen is located in Takachiho, 600 metres from Takachiho Shrine and 1.8 km from Takachiho Gorge Freshwater Fish Aquarium. Incredible property and the ryokan was immaculate, tranquil and friendly. The staff were all wonderful and the owner is very kind. We were late to our gorge boat and she gave us a lift in the van. The meals were also wonderful. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Thank you again!

Situated in Hyuga, 27 km from Totoro-kō and 38 km from Saitobaru Tomb, Mimitsu Lounge CASAKURA offers a garden and air conditioning. A hot tub is available for guests. Lovely little home in Mimitsu, well stocked and super comfortable. We used the hot tub which was great. The bed was so comfortable, we had a great sleep. The place is decorated very well, it's really homely but also modern.
