This was such a unique property—very remote, yet close to the nearby town of Dalen. The kitchen was well equipped and we made dinner (there were four of us staying in the two cabins) and foraged for mushrooms and berries at the hosts encouragement and guidance. We also utilized the breakfast items and our leftovers to make omelettes in the morning before we left. We used the amazing sauna and small pond on the property in the evening. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were great and the sunrise was unbelievable. The mirrored cabins are not to be missed. We spent a LOT of time taking photos!

Gaustatoppen Lodge - Mountain View - Gaustablikk se encuentra en Rjukan, en la región de Telemark, y dispone de balcón y vistas a la montaña. Amazing view, amazing use of space in the apartment. Clean, well designed and decorated, amenities in great shape. Quick drive to Gaustatoppen and town. Nearby diskgolf. Modern appliances.

Tuddal Høyfjellshotel se encuentra en Tuddal, a 12 km de Monte Gaustatoppen, y ofrece alojamiento con centro de fitness, parking privado gratis, jardín y terraza. We loved absolutely everything about this gem of a property: the location in a stunning natural environment, the adorable staff, the unique history and decor of the hotel full of collectible and heirloom furniture and, of course the wonderful dinner. Food certainly was a highlight as this is generally where Norway fails to impress us. We were served a fresh, creative, and delicious dinner in the beautiful dining room overlooking the fjell. The chef even adjusted the menu for the vegetarians among us, creating genuine new dishes for us. Wow! Again, that was unexpected as eating veg in Norway is often a challenge. Everything felt authentic and personal in this independently-run property. Dinner starts with a presentation of the history of the place by the owner, their struggles during Covid and how they overcame them. Charmingly, this introduction included the reading of a poem (sadly we don’t understand Norwegian so had to rely on the translation of the presentation afterwards). Every effort is made to be sustainable : There’s a vegetable garden, the delicious bread is baked on the premisses (we took a box of the amazing Flatbrød with us) and the lovely shop sells some local cheese, honey and other specialties including, this being Norway, sweets :) We are already dreaming of a next stay to the Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to experience more of its magic and of the stunning nature around it as our stay this time was way too short. Note to the owners: stay as you are, you are a genuine gem and the world needs more places like yours. Thank you for everything!

Løvheim Gjestehus está en Sauland y cuenta con vistas a la montaña, jardín, salón de uso común, terraza, restaurante y bar. El bed and breakfast ofrece wifi y parking privado, ambos gratis. Buen hotel con agradables y cómodas habitaciones. Desayuno suficiente y buen trato de los propietarios. Lo recomiendo.

Nutheim Gjestgiveri está en Flatdal, a 43 km de Iglesia de Madera de Heddal, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, salón de uso común y terraza. The breakfast was great. The staff was great. The dinner was fantastic. The setting and views are amazing. I will be back and tell others to stay there!

Beautiful breakfast. Lovely hosts. Spotlessly clean. Basin in room. Handy option for an evening meal. Nice walks in the area. They allowed us to park the motorcycle in a closed shed.

What a great property owned by a lovely, kind host who has a super creative home... The apartment is large and fully equipped with every possible convenience.
