Our stay was absolutely perfect, we enjoyed every minute! We were welcomed with homemade port wine and really good recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The room was very clean and cleaned daily, The air conditioning was working very well and made our stay convenient on really hot days. We enjoyed breakfast and infinity pool, and a jacuzzi in the evening as well. Overall our stay was exceptional and we will definitely recommend this gem of Dou ro valley and will arrange another trip to come back!

Octant Douro located in Vista Alegre, Castelo de Paiva. Offering a stunning infinity pool the hotel overlooks the Douro River blending itself with the surrounding nature. The views from the property and our room were breathtaking. The room was very clean and comfortable. We appreciated the included breakfast, and found the onsite restaurants to be quite good. We loved the indoor pool and also took advantage of the babysitting services. Everything about our stay was wonderful.

Nestled along the Douro River, Douro Hotel Porto Antigo. is housed in a historic building. It features an outdoor swimming pool, in-house massages and a restaurant serving European dishes. The location and views from the hotel are amazing. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were extremely kind and welcoming.

Everything was excellent. The friendly staff, the fantastic dinner where you meet people from all over the world. Lot's of top class local food and almost "unlimited" wine supply from the house was included in the dinner package that you should not miss. Superb! The pool area was very nice and relaxing. You could also take long walks in the wine yards with fantastic views over the Douro valley. The room was very nice. Fantastic old style but gently renovated.

We were just driving through so we only stayed one night, but I would love to return for longer. I think it would make a great base to explore the Douro. The room was spacious and simple. Great linens, lovely bath products. The pool is stunning with a view of the valley. Big, well-appointed fitness center. Gorgeous spa (that I didn't have time to use, sadly.) Fantastic restaurant-- we enjoyed dinner and breakfast, and both were quite good.
