Loving Strangers Hostel ligger i Madalena og har en have, fælles opholdsområde, en terrasse og bar. Overnatningsstedet har karaoke og et fælles køkken. So much more than a hostel: a real family homestay experience, with a hug! Stefano and Pedro are wonderful hosts, I feel sheepish about not spending enough time in the garden relaxing and conversing - was too busy running around the island! The hostel is on a quiet street in the centre of Madalena, with stunning views over the Pico mountain. Rooms are spacious, each bed is curtained off for privacy, equipped with a power socket, a lamp and a fan, nice firm mattress. All communal areas are clean, and the garden is just awesome! You get a choice of cats to cuddle, and a dog :) The shared kitchen has everything you need for cooking or storing food items. Also, if you have an early start - like, climbing the mountain,- you can have tea, cereal, yoghurt and jam on toast - before the official breakfast time, just tidy up after yourself - but you'll miss the pancakes..... Definitely a hostel-home experience that I recommend and that is firmly on my re-visit bucket list!

My Bed in pico ligger i Madalena og tilbyder indkvartering med balkon eller gårdhave, gratis wi-fi, fladskærms-tv samt en restaurant og en bar. It’s a very central location, beautifully decorated, nice, quiet and clean with a great staff. They offered great ideas for local restaurants and even gave a welcome gift of biscuits, tea and chocolates. I had a lovely view from my room and just loved the town!

The location as well as the hospitality and service were more than awesome. Helen really tries to make you feel as comfortable as possible with all her heart. We had problems with our rental car, since we had to give it back one day before we left. She managed to clear everything with the car rental company. Additionally we had breakfast prepared for us early in the morning at 5:30, before we went up to Pico Mountain. And after returning, found a piece of chocolate cake for both of us in our room. We had our laundry made. And great talks with other travellers during breakfast. The little terrace in front of the house with a great view, the lovely outdoor kitchen - everything was really nice. We definitely can recommend this place and would come back ourselves. Thank you!
