I was nervous about the small size of the room before we arrived, but one we saw how it was designed and organized, we found it to be perfect for our needs. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. Owner is very nice and she cooks very well! Breakfast was good and the room was clean and comfy! We had a nice ocean view!

Situated in a restored 18th-century home, Casa Da Piedade offers a lounge with fireplace, outdoor garden with barbecue and brightly decorated rooms. Wi-Fi and parking are free. Our stay at this hotel in Madeira was absolutely unforgettable. The hotel itself was incredibly beautiful — from the architecture to the gardens and the breathtaking views all around. The room was tastefully decorated, every detail, from the design to the little touches, added to the overall charm. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and what really stood out was the service — friendly, helpful, and always with a smile. We felt completely relaxed, surrounded by beauty, nature, and peace. Truly one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. We truly didn’t want to leave. Can’t wait to return to this little piece of paradise!
