I booked Maison Fimela after travelling in Senegal for two weeks, wanting to end the trip by visiting the UNESCO listed Saloum Delta. I’m very glad I did. This was the best accommodation I stayed in, with the best food and hospitality of the entire trip. The place feels like an oasis for birdwatching, and I especially enjoyed meditating and listening to the birdsongs. Nature focused travellers will love it, and the Saloum Delta itself is not to be missed (although I saw more birds in the lagoon in front of the hotel than during my delta excursion) Chloé was very helpful in organising my excursions and arranging a taxi to the airport. I have no complaints at all and was very happy with my stay.

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und die Atmosphäre sehr entspannt. Ich kann es sehr empfehlen!

We also felt at home in this hotel, as the excellent chef prepared fresh and delicious meals based on our preferences. The entire staff was very attentive and helpful. The pools were very clean as well as our room. It looked like paradise on Earth. It was so relaxing to be there, I wish we had stayed longer. They took the time to even book us some day trips with some tourist guides they know, and we were not disappointed. They took very good care of us, and we had some unforgettable moments and lifetime experiences. The owners trusted us with the drinks, and we felt like home, just like the meaning of the word KOUNZO. Please take the time to sit and chat with the owners as this is - 1st of all - not a typical cold B&B but rather a big warm international family. 2dly - they are so knowledge of life and have a couple of amazing stories to tell. So get the right spirit while visiting them, not matter if you go with your partner, a group of friends, or your family. We left our hearts there and with eyes full of tears of joy.
