Situated at the base of the wild Tsitsikamma Mountains, The Fernery overlooks an impressive 30-metre waterfall in the Sanddrift River gorge. Wow, what an amazing experience to stay at The Fernery. This is one of the places we will remember for a long time. The setting of the hotel was fantastic. The Jacuzzi and Hot Tub ambiance also fantastic. The breakfast by wide margin the best in South Africa. Dinner was also very good and fairly priced.

This stay was unplanned and booked last minute. And we didn´t regret it! Tasty food, great wine and a lodge with a view over the game farm. The 2 game tours (evening and morning) ,included into the room rate, are fascinating. We saw all big 5, except leopard, but therefore Cheetahs on the hunt.

Nestled at the eastern head of Knysna, this luxurious, pet-friendly hotel boasts a championship golf course, a restaurant and a spa. Free WiFi is provided. We were lucky to get a last minute booking here and we couldn’t fault our one night stay. From our arrival at the reception, the porter Sunshine’s friendly helpful service taking us to our beautiful accommodation, the plentiful supply of logs for the fire in our room, wonderful bath and toiletries and the delicious food both at dinner and breakfast the next day. The coffee at breakfast was the best hotel coffee I’ve had in a long time. The only disappointment was that due to load shedding we couldn’t use the spa facilities during our afternoon but I had a wonderful time using the pool , sauna etc the next day before walking back through the beautiful gardens before sadly having to say goodbye. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
