If you just look for a tropical paradise, look no further. The property is right on the beach, and what beach it is! Totally clean, wide, sandy, with roaring waves that put you to sleep each night. At night, in winter months, five species of turtles come to lay eggs and I saw them each night. There is a river cutting the beach in two; and when you cross the river, the beach becomes just impeccable. Magical. You can even enter the river that runs to the sea and swim upstream. The vistas you get around you are simply breathtaking. I have never seen such beauty in my life and I have traveled quite a bit. The bungalows are simple, but clean and comfortable. The mosquito net worked very well, but there were very few mosquitoes anyway there. I took the Malarone daily, but people around me did not. I asked around the long time residents and no-one ever had malaria, while living on the island. I would not take them pils again. There is a shared toilet and shower there - both very clean and functional. The water in the shower is cold-lukewarm- but you will pray it were colder, since it is hot outside. The owner Tomás is truly very helpful. He speaks ONLY Spanish and Portuguese, but with the help of google translate we were able to communicate very well. He is very helpful and will do anything to accommodate your wishes and needs. He helped with the trip to Isla das Rolas (the Equator trip) as well as with the trek to the foot of Cao Grande. Oh, by the way, you can see Cao Grande from the alcove on the premises or from the point where the river runs to the sea. Also from the river itself. There is wifi at the reception and around, and this wifi is good, reliable and strong. The entire complex is totally eco, powered by solar energy only. Breakfast is included in the price, but dinner can be ordered with Tomás. It is usually fish or octopus and, together with the breakfast can become a bit repetitive so I advise you to bring some provisions with you.

I stayed with this lovely mountain ecolodge for 2 nights, short stay yet I have to say that the experience was really fantastic! Fabulous mountain vibes, simple but tasted breakfast, dedicated and well-designed lunch menu, warm-hearted staffs, 24 hrs nice-flowing hot water, easy to arrive from the town/airport (no more than 40 mins)…Everything is prefect and I do wish to come back again with my family! Thank you so much for your kind hosting:) Moore is so happy to stay here!

Due to an unforeseen change of plans, we booked our stay just a few hours before arriving. Joao contacted me right away via WhatsApp to let us know he wouldn’t be there initially, but he made sure someone was expecting us and ready to greet us. This excellent communication continued throughout our stay. Joao’s hospitality was the standout—he was always available for anything we needed and genuinely cared that we had a great experience. He went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit, bread and eggs, (and even soya yoghurt—which he had gone out especially to get for me as a vegetarian) Our room had a beautiful view of the sea, and we could hear the waves crashing as we fell asleep—I slept really well here. The location is in a village, and although we don’t speak Portuguese, the locals were very friendly. We even enjoyed a drink at the local bar and felt very safe the entire time.

This is an exceptional place to stay it is very comfortable, beautifully decorated, the views are spectacular and you fall asleep lullabied by the ocean. My favourtie place in a two week trip to STP. The staff are very helpful and Tiziano the owner is so great and was on hand to help with planning. The food was also delicious.

We LOVED this place! Joao is such a great host and the place is just amazing. Everything is clean and comfortable and the views from the bungalow are just amazing. Also the food was delicious!!

Monte Mar SãoTomé se nachází v destinaci M. Peixe a má restauraci, pokojovou službu, bar, zahradu, terasu a výhled na moře. Gorgeous location offering a stunning view over Praias dos Tamarindos (5-10 min walking distance). Zen atmosphere with the sound of waves, crickets at night and birds during the day. The owner Adi and his staff welcomed and treated us as we were in a 5* establishment. They were very accommodating day and night. There are 2 identical bungalows with a huge terrace. They are set in the middle of the plantation. The bed is comfortable and the fan works powerfully. Hot water with good pressure went the pump is on. The food is exceptional at a very good price. We had a gastronomical tasting for our first night. Ingredients are mainly from their plantation and according to the catch of the day for the seafood. Their fresh Cajamanga juice is addictive. We initially planned to stay 1 night but ended up staying 4 nights. We really enjoyed our experience, the kindness and the smile of this place.

I stayed in Eco-Por my last two days in São Tomé. It was just perfect. Felt like I am in middle of tropical forest and I was alone. Beautifully designed, clean home. I had an accident on my way there, ended up in hospital couple of hours as I broke my leg. Arrived there in a taxi with plastered leg. The staff (Rodrigo) did everything to make sure I was okay, checked on me every few hours, brought me me food from village. I managed to get rest in my way long journey home. Place has, I believe no restaurant etc but next to a big village for any need. Couldn’t walk around the area but sitting on my private terrace, looking down to river and listening the nature really made stay there. Breakfast was not included but staff (Fabio, his name I think) made very nice breakfast my two morning there. Many fruit, juice, hot drink, letter and fresh bread was more than enough. Ned was on hard side but was comfortable for me. WiFi, aircon, mini fridge worked very well. It was a perfect way of ending my active holiday in São Tomé.

The cabin was really about the Island style, and Joana and her friends made all their possible to make us having the best experience !! The village and its people are also very nice and kind !
