The slightly remote, back-water riverside location might not be for everyone, but was just perfect for me. I loved being able to go out kayaking whenever, or just relax around the facilities surrounded by greenery. The accommodation was spacious, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, in Asia (for my admittedly western tastes where I often find Asian beds are too hard for me). The food at the restaurant was excellent, and staff were very helpful at arranging day trips, and shuttle into town. It’s very easy and cheap to get a tuktuk back from Kampot city centre.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—nothing was too much trouble and they really went out of their way to make us feel at home. The grounds are beautiful, with lovely fruit trees and two great pools that made it feel like a little paradise. We stayed in an apartment with a kitchen, which was ideal for us as we have several food allergies. It was very clean and well-equipped, and being able to cook for ourselves added so much comfort and peace of mind. Breakfast was included and really exceeded our expectations—there were plenty of options to choose from, so there was something for everyone. The location is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature—just what we were looking for. It’s a bit outside of town, so having a scooter is useful, but the calm and beauty of the setting more than made up for that. Overall, the value for money is excellent. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax and recharge. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel! The location right next to the canal is peaceful and relaxing — you can hear the water and feel the breeze all day. The dorm is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the atmosphere is perfect for meeting other travelers. Great value for the price and a lovely place to unwind. Would definitely stay again!

1.4 km from Kampot Pagoda, Orchid bokor family guest house is a recently renovated property located in Kampot and provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Honestly, the host and his wife were amazing! Their super friendly attitude and positive vibes made us feel right at home. It was such a pleasure to stay there. Thank you!
