We also enjoyed a wonderful private garden tour and a fantastic day trip to the Knuckles Mountains with Bandar, arranged by the hotel. If you want a place that’s authentic, quiet, beautifully renovated and full of heart don’t miss Coldagh Manor. It’s a true hidden gem and deserves to be fully booked.

The hotel is located in a scenic spot in the middle of a small tea estate. The surrounding views are spectacular. The staff were so helpful and the food was absolutely amazing! They set up the ping pong table for us and drove us to the beautiful Sembuwaththa lake. Well worth a visit if you love nature, hiking through tea estates and Sri Lankan food.

It turned out that we were the only guests, and we felt like really special ones. We were welcomed with fresh juice and a nice conversation by two lovely waiters/kitchen chefs. The view is amazing—better than in the photos. Breakfast was delicious. Our room had a cute balcony on the back side, and it was super quiet. The room was clean, and the staff were really attentive. They helped us organize a tuk-tuk to the city and arranged a car to take us on a full-day trip with a few stops along the way.

Book this place when you wish to see many things in and around Kandy! The owners went the extra mile to make me super happy. He is a safe driver who showed me many places per day in his comfortable car and she cooked fantastic meals for me with fresh herbs and spices out of their own ‘jungle’. They are a lovely and honest family, the best hosts during my world-travel :-) Also: the place is a gem in the mountains, beautiful decorated and with a clean pool. I felt really at home here.

We enjoyed the hike to Little Worls’end and the visit of the tea factory.

Overlooking stunning nature views, Strathisla Guest House features an outdoor swimming pool and barbeque facilities. Guests can also enjoy free Wi-Fi access at all areas of the property. Beautiful old colonial house in an amazing setting, but what was so special was the warmth of the staff. The food was some of the best I had in Sri Lanka. It's a pity that I live on the other side of the world....otherwise we would be frequent visitors at this hotel.
