We also had dinner at the convent and it was very good with a wonderful wine from the area. The property itself is jaw-droppingly beautiful, with many original features from the 12th C. A special thank you to Maya and Paula, who welcomed us so warmly every morning and prepared the best pancakes we have ever had. The welcome from Luis was a true delight – so friendly and genuine. Célia and Marta impressed us with their attention to detail and the way they served us so beautifully at the table. Marta, the pastry chef, amazed us with the best handmade desserts we have ever tasted. And of course, we cannot forget Ruben, the chef, who with so much love and care prepared for us an incredible variety of delicious dishes. Situated in Monsaraz, 1.5 km from Monsaraz Castle, Horta da Moura by WOT Signature features accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. Everything about the hotel was outstanding. The staff was wonderful and we loved the pool and parking. It was very easy to drive to the town of Monzaras, which was wonderful. If I return to this part of Portugal in the future, I will definitely stay at Horta da Moura.
