This was our choice to stay the night before we started the Camino and I couldn’t imagine a better place to start. Ana and Pedro welcome you into their home like family. Please don’t pass up the pilgrim dinner…Pedro is an excellent chef and spending time with the family and other pilgrims is priceless! This location does add about 4-5km to your pilgrimage from Valença but it is well worth the extra distance. We started out in the cold rain but and ended up spending most of our pilgrimage in the cold rain but I could always hear Ana’s encouraging words to just embrace whatever comes and we did! I can honestly say it was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. The staff were warm and welcoming, the room was very comfortable, dinner was delicious, and breakfast was outstanding. Vale de São Torcato Hotel Rural is situated in Guimarães, 4.3 km from the iconic Guimarães Castle. Set in Viana do Castelo and facing Lima River, the AP Dona Aninhas is 2 minutes' walking from the city centre. I've really enjoyed the stay here. Excellent location and brilliant staff. Would stay again next time I am in Viana

Situated in a 12th century Augustin Convent, the Pousada Mosteiro de Guimaraes overlooks Guimarães. Rooms are equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning and cable TV. This property was amazing! What a unique hotel! It was so fun to drive up the windy, tiny road to the top of the hill to find an amazing building with lovely views. The hotel is stunning. It's like you're walking through a museum only you get to stay there. The architecture, paintings, and ceramic tiles were the background for leisurely strolls in the beautiful grounds. We had a fabulous dinner and drinks in the lounge and enjoyed our breakfast in the morning. The price was so reasonable. A shout out to the very friendly and very helpful staff!

10 km from Parque Nacional da Peneda Geres, JADS Guesthouse is a recently renovated property located in Fafião and provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. The property is beautiful! You could enjoy much of the day just enjoying the property! Rooms are spacious and clean. Great shower! Friendly staff. The pool is clean and refreshing!

A perfect blend of luxury surrounded by gorgeous vineyards within a spectacular historical setting. Leonore and her team created a space where you felt pampered with so many lovely details while also allowing complete privacy. And the breakfast … just the best., served under the watchful portraits of Leonore’s ancestors in the family dining room. The wine, the walks, the pool the list goes on!
