Van der Stel Manor is situated in a residential area, 5 minutes' drive from the centre of Stellenbosch. The restored Cape Dutch home features a garden and outdoor pool. This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful, quiet, residential area about 7 minutes drive from the centre of Stellenbosch. The extension to the back of the original property has been tastefully done and the bedrooms and bathrooms have been finished to a high standard. The living room area where breakfast is served in the original part of the house has a real warmth to it, especially if the fire is going in the winter. The breakfast itself is substantial, so much so that I skipped lunch. The owner and the staff are delightful. Good value for money.
