Shout out to Kevin for his help with getting me settled in. The room was first class, exceptionally clean and well equipped. For anyone who enjoys their tech, the iPod which can be used to set the room facilities and find out more about the hotel, its services and Ushuaia itself was a great addition, along with the ability to WhatsApp with reception to order breakfast etc. Speaking of breakfast, there were all kinds of options, from the traditional, through to healthy option. They even had a vegan option. You can enjoy it looking out at the great views from the property. The staff were also very friendly, kind and professional. All in all a fantastic place to stay.

Very nice hotel located on the top of a hill above El Calafate. We had our own car but the hotel offers shuttle service in the afternoon and evening into "downtown". Staff was very nice and helpful. They even let us change our rooms to a more silent part of the hotel when we did not have a good night sleep in the first rooms. Hotel has a nice and large lap pool, pretty warm and another smaller pool as well as a nice gym area with a view. Breakfast choice was plenty, buffet style.

Excellent hotel set in beautifully landscaped gardens. Comfortable rooms, good location (two blocks from the main street), helpful staff, varied breakfast, heated indoor pool. Although on the pricier side, it is worth it & is a gem of a hotel in El Calafate.

Much bigger than anticipated with associated traffic issues...
Much bigger than anticipated with associated traffic issues and almost shanty town on the Southern aspect which was the direction we approached from. There were nicer parts, but it was all a bit too overwhelming after having been in less populated parts of Argentina. The lakefront looks nice, but has a busy road along it.

Interesting place with good facilities and tourist information. Prison Museum has a lot of topics and needs a couple of days to do it justice(!). trips out to local places are easy, the National park is a good day out and shuttle busses to hikes work well.

If you enjoy hiking 10–12 hours a day, this place is pure...
If you enjoy hiking 10–12 hours a day, this place is pure paradise.
I have hiked in many parts of the world — the USA, Italy, France, Spain and Croatia — and I can confidently say that nothing compares to this. You simply cannot see landscapes like this anywhere else.
We spent four days hiking in El Chaltén and one day visiting the glaciers in El Calafate, which is the ideal amount of time if the weather cooperates. Out of our four hiking days, one was absolutely perfect — we hiked the Laguna de los Tres trail. The other days were so-so, with light rain on and off, which is very common in December here. Still, the rain never stopped us from hiking.
Important tips:
When it rains in El Chaltén, it rains in town — but it often snows in the mountains. On one trail we encountered nearly a foot of snow. Bring real winter clothing, including a warm jacket, gloves, and a hat.
Despite the unpredictable weather, this was an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful small city center, could walk around again and again.
Went by the small artisanal market and to walked to Plaza Sarmiento, to play with the kids.
We had dinner spontaneously in a place called "Luisa del abasto"
which was really very good and not at all expensive!

A delightful little Swiss-type village up the mountain, about an hour's drive from the Bariloche Airport. The beautiful snow-capped mountains, the azure lakes, the meandering trails along the river and streams, and the picturesque village can be considered a "paradise on earth." The locals are so kind, helpful, and just wonderful. They should teach people in other places about true hospitality and customer service! In the shops, restaurants, hotels, and on the streets, the people are beyond wonderful in helping us. Their genuine warmth, kindness, and friendliness are among the reasons we keep returning whenever visiting Argentina!

Perfect place for animal lovers!
Perfect place for animal lovers! Going in the right months you will see whales, sea lions, pinguins and many more animals which come from Antarctica and stay nearby Puerto Madryn; great excursions for families! I stayed for 3 days but could have stayed 5 days to see it all!

Las Grutas has the potential to be a prime location,...
Las Grutas has the potential to be a prime location, although some of the private investment is not matched by public expenditure.
It offers you unique experiences, like scuba diving (even it you just want to try and are not certified), marine life sightings (visit Cota Cero for that) and quite busy beaches.
There are some fine dinning, many decent places and the pedestrian street is busy at nights. For proper dinning, get a reservation at Del Azul and enjoy primer cooking. From the same chef, you also have dinning at the Septima Bajada, where you can have lunch or dinner by the sea.
If you are alone, going to Rubi at night can be good fun

Of course I'm going to complain about the fact that all the experiences
"to do" in El Calafate were super expensive to do. I could've stayed much longer but I'm not sure my wallet would've cooperated. All the "Catamaranes" are basically owned by one company, its a monopoly and they get to charge whatever they want. There are no "cheaper" options. We bought 1 full day excursion from Patagonia Chic.
The rest of the days we visited the National Parks - Perito Moreno and El Chalten (3 hour drive away from El Calafate) .
The National parks are beautiful and very well kept. There's one main road that connects the whole town, from the airport, all the way to the entrance of the Glaciers, its one road, you cannot get lost here!
Most of the other roads are unpaved.
The city is lively and great to venture around.
Fave spot was Lago Argentino. very peaceful
we went to Panaderia de Don Luis for pastries, sandwiches and churros
Doña Mecha for combos of milanesas and fries
Tried "cordero patagonigo" Patagonian Lamb at Rustico Asador & Parrilla - super recommended by our Hostess and on the less expensive options.
