The place is super clean, the restaurant is really good. Our room was gorgeous and basically a mini apartment, well fit for longer stays. Gym, massage, pool is nice and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and kind, all spoke good English as well. What else does a guest need?

Nice sunny location, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast with great food choice, beverages etc. Evening possibility to eat your food in the restaurant area, plates and cuttlery provided, drinks in fridge in the lobby. Wellness large with two saunas, spacious relaxation area, bathrobe, slippers and towels provided with no additional costs - great relaxation after full day skiing! Highly recommended! Great value for money - room, breakfast, wellness, parking!

Absolutely amazing with children and still the parents can have a bit of luxury as well. Ski in & ski out location is ideal! On site ski school for small kids is a game changer and the ski instructors are so attentive. Abundance of activities and facilities for children. Lovwly (adults only) spa on the 3rd floor allows for a break from the child friendly rest of the hotel.

Huge selection of food and all of it of exceptional quality (often organic). Super delicios and fine dining quality dinners. The wellness areas are also luxiorious with big tea and drink selection (for free). No matter what is the weather outside, you can spend a wonderful time inside the hotel with your family.

Great restaurants, worth booking a table if you're in a larger group and they open later in the evening, like 5-6pm. Various menu options including vegan/vegetarian. On the slopes the bars are playing very loud music but serve quickly so you don't wait too long.

St. Michael im Lungau is a lovely Alpine town with amazing mountain views and a really relaxed vibe. It’s easy to get to from the A10, and you’ll find everything you need there – shops, restaurants, and good access to nearby cable cars and hiking trails. A great base for exploring the Lungau region.

Mauterndorf is a beautiful little town in the Austrian Alps with a peaceful, timeless charm.
Its medieval castle and traditional houses make it feel like a step back in time. Especially in the evening light, the town becomes wonderfully atmospheric—quiet, romantic, and full of character.

Very nice B&B with great attention to detail and quality! The interior of the rooms is well-done and the whole property is very clean. The breakfast selection is very rich and the quality of the food served is excellent. Max is a great host, making sure to accommodate all our needs and serving as a great companion for a chat after a day of skiing. I highly recommend the property!

It is a compact city, once you are in the center you can access all the popular stores/supermarkets by walk. Parking was also not a problem, 1.5 hours you can stop without paying. It is a classical old small city. They have a lot of locally produced tasty products. There is a nice church on the hill, worth to visit.

It is a very beautiful and quiet town. Beautiful views of the mountains. Ideal for hiking. There is a very nice river that runs parallel to the main road. Maybe there should be an ice cream parlor in the summer. That would be nice.

I had brought bread cheese and fruit with me so did not eat out. There is a pizzeria
The transport links were good. I walked as much as I could but locals freely offered assistance. Walking in the hills is excellent

If you want your skiing winter experience to be idyllic, be sure to book a room right here. Hotel on the trail + extraordinary food offer (breakfast, lunch, mid-meal and dinner) + activities and content for the youngest and super-friendly staff will make your annual event unforgettable.
The possibility of leaving the hotel directly on the ski lift and already in the first slope to feel the perfect tracks or powder trails, simply magical. Plus, while Obertauern is covered in natural snow, other surrounding ski resorts don't offer nearly as much satisfaction.

I have no Idea, i was skiing all day, in the evening in restaurants outside Sankt Micheal, but I was only there 4 days, and had arrangements for apre-ski and restaurant visit with a group of 22 people arranged inside Katsberg-hohe,
I left Sankt Micheal, in the morning at 8:00 and returned in the evening after 20:00 to 21:00. Saw nothing of Sankt Micheal. But I am sure it is all there. It was my choice to stay there; and knew i was commuting up and down to "Katsberg-hohe" which is perfectly do-able, with the right car and no extreme weather. If the weather would not allow the 11 minute trip, you can always start skiing from St. Margareta, which is probably only needed on a hand-full of days per ski-season. and on top of katsberg-hohe, you can easily ski in surrounding ski-areas (Katsberg-hohe), Mautendorf, Gross-eck-Speier-Eck, or Aineck or "Obertauren". And "Obertauren" is only a 20 -to-25 minutes drive (if your willing to get into you're car) but hey it is was only (3) EUR on top the price of the local skipass to include "Obertauren": good value for money, close by, and it is "pretty snow sin the top (3) ski areas of Austria. Ad you are in a very tourist friendly pension for half the price as staying "Obertauren".
