Our rooms were even better than the pictures. The hotel was cozy and even though it was a busy season, we never felt crowded. The food was absolutely fantastic. We were not sure what to expect, but there were plenty of options for our vegan a gluten free family members. It was our first time experiencing “half board” and we loved it.

The hotel gives the welcome card which is great for free transport. I bought the Innsbruck card as I wanted to do as much as possible and it was well worth the money, several options available and getting it online and onto my phone was very quick and easy. Not sure Lienz is on traveller's radar. It's a must when travelling to Austria. Easy to get to by train from Germany and from within Austria. A small town easily navigated on foot. It's stunning. It was a shame the gondola was not operating though.

The spa was very nicea very beautiful space, but the water in tubs and pool could have been a bit warmer. I snuggles in my plush robe and had tea instead and had a lovely time in the spa regardless. The DE-ticket works between Ehrwald and Garmish, despite that Ehrwald is in Austria, so one can travel freely there. The Zugspitze, Sonnenspitze and other locations are reachable by train/bus/cable car from Ehrwald. The Seebensee is fantastic lake, one can get there by a bus+cable car and using and normal road or a bus and a rather difficult via ferrata. Also there is an indoor climbing (about 15m high) gym with 4 automatic belaying stations in Ehrwald, so one can climb even during bad weather conditions.
