AustraliaGreat location at the top of the hill and right beside Cahal Pech. The restaurant food was amazing. The pool was great. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They filled up our water bottles when we left and provided us transport down the hill on a very hot day, which was very appreciated.

United StatesThe property is well-maintained and has a very friendly atmosphere. The staff is trying to do everything to make the guest happy! We initially stayed in the Spa room, an amazing cabin with a beautiful view of the jungle towards the river. Due to our extended stay, we had to move to another cabin for our last night, which was super cute as well with a beautiful view over an open area. We can't wait to return again! We in particular miss the servicer of Khalid, who was going far above expectation in getting drinks ready for our arrival every day, getting cheese platters arranged, and more.

United KingdomWe were blown away by the room when we arrived- we stayed in one of the Tiki houses and the veranda with a hammock to sit outside without getting bitten my mosquitos! The room itself was beautifully furnished which made for a lovely romantic stay.
The pools were also great, the moment we arrived after a hot and sticky journey- a dip in the pool was exactly what we needed!
Great location too for fabulous restaurants/bars and of course the Cahal Pech ruins which are next door

I feel like I could write a book about how much we liked this place, but in the interest of brevity, I'll keep it short and sweet. Claudia and her staff should be so proud of the multi-faceted experience they offer to their guests. We had pleasant and numerous interactions with her, and staff members Carina, Mark and Robin, and every time we were left with a smile on our faces. Our treehouse (Coconut) was perfect in every way, so private, so cozy, so comfortable. The outdoor shower is wonderful. We ate two breakfasts and two dinners in the restaurant, everything was delicious with great attention to detail. The pool (which never closes) was a fantastic way to either start or finish our days. Resident cats Tom and Jerry ("the true owners" according to Claudia) were lovely. There are abundant birds and other animals that either visit or live on the property. Sleeping Giant Resort is located right off beautiful Humming Bird Hwy, not that far from Belmopan, close to Herman's Cave & The Blue Hole. I believe the whole resort & development covers 500 acres, so it feels like you are in your own world! We loved the bikes, hiking trails, bridges, lookout tower, animals (poultry, peacocks, sheep, horses, bunnies, turtles, birds), river/tubing, outdoor wood-fire pizza dining area, restaurants, pools, gardens, sitting areas, large rooms, everything was bonus! We felt like celebrities lol, all the staff was amazing, friendly, kind, so helpful! The higher price justified the inclusions & amenities. Such a cute little town to use as you adventure base. There are so many different activities and stores that it’s impossible to see and do everything in even a week. Everyone in town is so friendly and I never felt unsafe, even during the late night block party I stumbled on. Watch out for the casino though. They do not like it if you win anything, and they will make sure to finagle the money back. For us it was the ribbon “security” band on the US tender— after we won a few hundred dollars and then started loosing, they made sure to bring to our attention they “couldn’t take the only hundreds we had left” because of the ribbon, even though they prefer and want you to pay in US Dollars to begin with. They made sure this happened only after our winnings were down so that we left in the negative. Other than the casino, which I highly recommend you avoid, this is such a quaint cute little Hispanic town with the friendliest people.Guest review byClayUnited States - 8.0

Stayed for 6 nights total: 2 in San Ignacio, 1 at Rainforest Inn on Butterfly Highway, and 3 at the beach in Hopkins. The Rainforest was awesome and we did some cave exploring on tours. My husband and I enjoyed the cave tube float and our friends loved the ATM cave. Of course there are a number of Mayan ruins to explore without having to cross into Guatemala. Belize is a small country but from the Cays to Belmopan city and beach areas the culture is varied. There is something magical about the experience of this...
There is something magical about the experience of this place. This is a very special place. Mike the owner says he has a special energy. For us it was a place of peace and being in tune with nature. The sunrise over the river, going for a swim in the morning mist with the sounds of the jungle - unbelievable! In the afternoon, the howler monkeys roam the treetops over the small complex. Everything is laid out very sustainably and the fabulous cook spoiled us with local food and a breakfast of our choice. We'll be back - Mike, big hug! San Ignacio has enough for one to two days of activities for a typical tourist. The Mayan Temple complexes are the main attraction (the one in San Ignacio is easy to reach but less interesting than the others a bit further away). The Iguana conservation project and chocolate making demonstration are worthwhile if you have time. I specifically went to see the Thirsty Jagwar (yummy fruit wines) booth at the Day & Night Market at Mae Gordon Park in Belmopan. It was a rainy day and the grounds were a bit wet and muddy, but there was a good variety of friendly vendors, so it was fun to shop around. They also had a good DJ and live music so it was entertaining as well. There was also a good variety of food vendors to choose from. The highlight of my visit was my stay at the Kiki Witz Resort. It was only 5 minutes drive outside Belmopan. Easy to find right off the highway just past the ArtBox store, but GPS was off. I had the cutest little Glamping Cabin in the woods!
