SwitzerlandWe absolutely loved the Mountain Plaza Hotel and highly recommend it!! Everything was perfect. Our group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids aged 8 and 10) had the best time. The hotel and rooms were thoughtfully designed, spacious, and clean. The staff was very accommodating in ensuring that we had two sets of connected rooms to best fit our needs. Our view from the balcony was incredible facing Jakobshorn. There were so many things on site to keep us all entertained and happy - swimming pool, sauna, game room, movie theater, and the cozy lobby with games (pool and foosball), plenty of cozy seating, a bar and live piano music. The ski room and on site rentals were super convenient. Breakfast was wonderful and we ate dinner at the restaurant two nights because it was delicious, convenient and comfortable. The location was perfect being a block away from the main street and bus stop that takes you to Davos Dorf (Parsenn) and Davos Platz (Jakobshorn). The hotel shuttle to Jakobshorn and Parsenn was very convenient and we used it each time we went skiing. Would absolutely stay here again!!!

I arrived on the afternoon of a festival where the one-way...
I arrived on the afternoon of a festival where the one-way Promenade was traffic free. With many street food stalls, music and a lot of public. The walk around the lake was enjoyable and also a trip up to Jakobshorn of reduced ticket prices (Fr. 18.- return, make sure that at the top you can get through the turnstile and not pay for the downhill journey like we did. Got a refund at the cash desk at the bottom though) for hotel guests with the tourist card. Also free travel on the the nostalgic train to Filisur and back and on all buses was a bonus. Scenery is splendid, and if you're a train enthusiast, it's the place to be for the Bernina or Glacier Express. Can recommend a bite to eat or just Coffee and Cake at Kaffee Klatsch on the Promenade. Davos - and Klosters - are great for holidays in summer and winter. skiing and nordic skiing anyway. But in summer there is the lake for kayaking or surfing or - if you don't mind the cold water - swimming. The mountains for downhill biking or hikes. The outdoors are second to none. In addition Davos offers a fantastic cultural program for visitors. Concerts, Young Artists or established orchestras etc. --- you can get special and unique experiences there. I highly recommend to look at the visitors or guest program by the DavosKlosters Tourist Board. From disc-golf to carriage rides, archery or visits by historic bus to Monstein brewery -- a divers and fabulous array of offers, you can only book them 2 weeks in advance but it's so worth it.
