NetherlandsEverything is new and in supreme condition. Staff helpful and friendly. We also made use of the free public transport option, and enjoyed the doscounted parking. Great and varied breakfast with all the usuals including pancakes, fruit and vegetables. Sound insulation was great for such a central location. We were sure we were more or less alone until we came down to breakfast to see there were a lot of other guests.
A real hidden gem, would absolutely come here again.

The apartment was super spacious and fully equipped with everything you could need. The hotel staff is also very kind and they left attentions such as delicious snacks and special tea selection in the room. The apartment is very clean and the beds are super comfortable. the location is perfect - very centrally located and within walking distance from almost anything. We really loved it and would recommend.

Also a very nice base to explore places like Annecy an excelent medieval city with a lot of rivers running the city (very romantic) just 50 minutes from Geneva.
Excelent city for a 4 days trip or a long weekend.

I had returned to Lausanne mainly to get the fast train to Dijon. I ended up spending much of my time strolling the waterfront and eating crepes at Ouchy because the town center shuts down on Sundays and museums are closed Mondays.

Monteux is an exceptional place. we visited the Christmas markets and had a day out at Gstaad. Boats were not running, but it was winter, so we knew that. We took the MOB to Gstaard, train was excellent - Gstaard exceptional for a few hours visit.
We decided to go and walk through the cobbled area of Old Town Montreux, but thee was nothing there -nice view when we go to the top, but nothing interesting on the way up.

Vevey is a lovely town on Lake Leman. There is a very nice old town and a beautiful promenade along the lake. We were there mainly to visit the Christmas market in Vevey, which is not so big, and the Christmas market in Montreux which is very big.

Evian-les-Bains in June, during what should be peak tourist season, felt unexpectedly lifeless. Many stores appeared permanently closed, and the town lacked any real atmosphere after early evening—by 10pm, only the casino restaurant was still serving food. This left few options for late dining or entertainment. Given these circumstances and the general sense of a closed-up town, I would not recommend visiting Evian-les-Bains, especially if you're expecting a lively lakeside resort experience.
While some guides and official tourism pages highlight Evian's attractive lakefront, Belle Époque architecture, and potential activities along the lake and nearby outdoors, recent firsthand accounts confirm a lack of vibrancy and operational businesses, even in traditionally busy months. For travelers who prioritize a bustling atmosphere and broad dining options long into the evening, it may be better to look elsewhere.

Nice lake front with port/marina. There's a steep climb up to the town from the water with a funicular railway (summer only?). Lots of places to eat plus takeaways and supermarket in easy walking distance of town centre.

The village of Chexbres is neatly placed within the vineyards overlooking Lake Leman, with Evian in the distance. A few restaurants and coffee shops serve mainly the locals with English not widely spoken. A Co Op supermarket and convenience store also at hand. The train to Vevey is on hand to give access to main line trains toward Geneva and other destinations such as Montreux. In the summer months the local pool is available with children's pool and sand pit plus lanes for adults, also a on site restaurant/coffee shop.

Lovely location on shore of Lake Leman. Plenty restaurants and cafes within walking distance of each other. Train station and ferry port easy to reach. Picturesque area, lovely for walking around. Easy to take a ferry trip to France also!

Spectacular view of the Lake and local vineyards. Hotel offered free onsite parking, close to the train station and free travel pass on the trains to town. The room and bathroom are clean and welcoming.

Geneva is a wonderful place to visit and taking trains/buses to other towns is very easy. Geneva could be your central hub where you could experience other parts of Switzerland and France and discover all the beautiful surrounding towns like Montreux, Gstadd, Annecy etc.
