We booked villa hundert as the last night after a multi day hike through the mountains and it was perfect. The room was beautiful and it was a great place to unwind. The whole hotel was beautiful, filled with candles and there were lovely communal spaces to enjoy. We went down for dinner and had a delicious cocktail and the first few courses on the terrace beside a wood fire with an incredible view of the mountains as it got dark. When we were ready we went inside to finish the meal. The hosts were so attentive and clearly so passionate about the project. The food was incredible - it was described as a love letter to Switzerland and you could really feel that. The music, the wine, the decor - everything was so beautiful with not a hint of pretension. We slept very soundly. The breakfast was also so thoughtfully done and we asked for scrambled eggs which were delicious and freshly made. I was so impressed by the whole experience, everything was thought through and so much care was given. We didn’t know what to expect when we booked but this was the highlight of our trip. I can’t say enough how highly I would recommend staying here. Thank you Christian, John and Anna. We hope to come back one day soon.

Central location. Beautiful looking hotel with modern decor. Friendly staff. The sauna area was an added treat. We had the place to ourselves. The mountain views surrounding the whole town were picturesque.
Lovely outdoor terrace for dinner & drinks. Cute town, great base for us (we had a car) to spend the day doing Grindelwald/interlaken (1 hr drive) without having to pay the hugely expensive prices of those towns. And also mount Pilatus which was only 25min. I would recommend this hotel for sure

The location was splendid. Just 10 meters from the station. Got down and walked into the hotel. Couldnt have asked for more. Hotel is On the lake and inside a qiuet Swiss village. Short idyllic walks around the lake and the village made the triip very memorable. One can walk into the woods and hit a couple of walking trails to Lungern and Sarnen. . The restaurant is very cosy with fair choice of food. The staff are very courteous and helful. ... :. I will come back again if possible.......... :)

The view is awesome from the rooms.
SPA have lot of different saunas , pool outside is also great especially in colder weather , pool also have sauna like feature.
Private area near lake with floating structure to sit or jump from
Location is good if you 1st time to explore Swiss nature by car.
Evening restaurant is good , quite expensive ,but comparable to high quality restaurants we have been in different cities. Staff is friendly !

Sachseln is a lovely location, even for gloomy winter days. The hotel was spotless, warm and cozy. The mattresses were very good. The breakfast was generous with eggs, bacon, yoghurt, cheeses, croissants etc! I also liked the ability to check in using an automated screen since I arrived late. The staff were also polite and I was able to hang out at the lobby for a few hours on my departure date to get some work done.

Beautiful town and lots of activities to do. We enjoyed in Trubsee and Furenalp. We regret of staying only for 2 days. Best to stay at least 5 days or a week. Good food everywhere. Coop is also there if you want to cook. They have good meats at the butcher. Easy to get around.

Excellent hotel — very clean and set in a beautiful little Swiss town with a lovely church just across the road. It’s a truly picturesque location. I didn’t interact with any staff as it was self check-in, which worked smoothly. There was plenty of parking, good facilities, and overall great value for money.

It is a small town with not many tourists when we visited. You won't find any typical souvenir shops here (with fridge magnets, key chains, cow bells etc.). Also, every supermarket is closed on Sunday, so plan accordingly.

Actually the place is nice but the housekeeping is terrible. We stayed for 3 nights and they never actually change our towels and the worst is they never clean the room although we had the sign that needs cleaning.
We have to call their attention every night .
Our vacations ruin everything whenever we come back to the hotel as we are disappointed of the situation..
We had a great day but it destroyed our aura as we return..

Melchtal has a cablecar and a road up to the plateau at nearly 2000m with a lake Melchsee and a small church. There are many cows and cheese is made there. Surrounding the lake are glorious peaks up to 2600m and Tiflis and other 3000m mountains are in the distance.
On the lower level at the bottom of the cable car are much closer craggy peaks and the delightful Waldhaus guesthouse with it’s excellent restaurant.

There are endless possibilities for hiking from Giswil! Geographic mid point of Switzerland Ällgi-Alp is 25 km away. If you come by bike or bicycle, Panoramastrasse is a couple of km away. For evening stroll you can go to Sarnersee and enjoy sunset.

Overall I liked the place. Very beautiful views, especially if you go up to Titlis. Breathtaking view.
but it was pity that you cannot rent sledge down at the entrance of ski lift.
Blue ski slopes were flat... literally flat.
However, Titlis was nice, very long red slopes.
VERY DISSAPOINTING:
My husband and I went with a small kid. We could not leave him alone so we were skiing one after the other, never together. We just wanted to stop at a first stop where there was a restaurant as well. But anyway, we had to pay full day-ticket price, which was crazy.

Beautiful city and kid people and the view was stunning, the atmosphere was peaceful. The bus stop was conveniently nearby, with buses arriving every 5 to 10 minutes to Sarnen. We relished every moment of our time there. We can’t wait to return and experience it all over again. I highly recommend this place!

Sarnen is so beautiful with lush green hillsides, breathtaking views of the surrounding Alps, pretty streams and a peaceful lake. There are lovely walking trails and parks with boating activities and fantastic amenities. We were only able to stay a short while, but enjoyed a delicious dinner at Molini's, which we highly recommend. Everything we needed for our brief visit was within walking distance, or easy walk to the nearby train station.
