A nice view at the sunset over the ocean from the window. Loved it here. A very fast wi-fi which was important for us due to working. The hotel might be actually the reason why we stayed in Antofagasta so long. :-D Also the last day, we could have stayed at the hotel pool or reception until the time we needed (not in the room tho which is understandable).

United KingdomWe were incredibly impressed with Quechua Hotel. The staff were all fantastic and were quick to respond to any query we had either at reception or on WhatsApp. Maria at reception gave us plenty of recommendations on where to eat in town too (our favourite was the Franchuteria bakery).
The breakfast was perfect and had plenty of choice including hot toasties and scrambled eggs. The one day we had an early tour the staff provided us with a breakfast to take away.
The hotel was impeccably clean, truly impressive considering the dust! We would definitely recommend staying at the Quechua Hotel.

A great hotel. We went for one night and stayed for three!
Room had a beautiful view across the beach. Lovely watching the sunset and lying in bed watching the waves. We were on the fourth floor. Anything below this would not have had that great a view.
Bed was really comfortable and the pillows amazing. Slept really well. No noise from other rooms. Sound proofing is good.
Shower was great. Really hot water. Complimentary drink when you arrive. Restaurant is good. Sat on the balcony eating our meal and watched whales swimming across the bay!
Parking is excellent.

The hotel is wonderful and we stayed in the suite, which meant that we had the special perk of having private tours in a car at our discretion. Our guide Felipe was so knowledgeable, funny and attentive. The fact that the suites are all inclusive of transfers, trips, food and drinks is very relaxing.

In all the city of Antofagasta is one of the most beautiful hotels (view from the rooms is wonderful.). The breakfasts are excellent, the staff is very friendly and all speak English.

I was very fortunate to have made been provided personal guides instead of a group experience.
Hats off to Cristina and Rodrigo. You are both knowledgeable and know your craft. Thank you to Cascada Expeditions for booking the tours.
I particular enjoyed the Termas de Puritama Hotsprings. I am particularly fond of viewing Vicunas and llamas. To sum up, the Earth around SPDA provides us all a rare gift with this geology and fauna.

The Huanchaca Ruins Museum unfortunately does not have accessible parking. The parking space at the entrance off a busy avenue has been blocked off with large boulders. Why????

They waited me long time during check-in, even there is no...
They waited me long time during check-in, even there is no customer in the middle of night. Their credit card machined didn't work, they asked me cash. I offered them to pay with USD but then they directed me another lobby to make this operation. That was totally mess.
In addition my corridor was noisy at 5AM in the morning. That's not a nice experience for me.

A tourist ghetto, meaning tons of tourists but also lots'a restaurants, travel agencies and such ~ Half-a-dozen excursions all the agencies offer, the geysers was very good, the other two we took were pretty okay ~ Red Stone and Flamingos, to be specific ~

I came to Calama for a day to take the Chuquicamata Mine...
I came to Calama for a day to take the Chuquicamata Mine tour and didn't do much else. It is a modern city with very an efficient public transportation system.
It was a real hardship to find information on how to book the tour. The Edificio Caldelco website was totally inadequate in directing visitors on the process of reserving.
I will post the current info on how to reserve the tour when I get home.

My staying in Calama was just for one night while travelling from Uyuni to Santiago, catching a flight at the nearby airport. I've walked the streets for a little bit during the day, I felt safe enough but didn't see anything interesting. It's dusty outside.
