The location was perfect, quiet neighbourhood with restaurants, small fresh fruit store and in the same time walking distance to The Bund. The most important factor was English customer service. They were not only focused on hotel services but also helped us a lot with travellers challenges in China, which was far beyond their duties. Special appreciation to Jeroen from front desk.
The rooms were comfy, modern style, very clean, including bathroom. Air-conditioning was easy to control, adjusted to our preferences. The breakfasts were variable, with selection of European and Asian options, great for a active sightseeing day. Our recommendation is to choose taxi services from airport to hotel for your comfort, it is offered in a good price

The central location, beautiful facilities and massive swimming pool. The SPA is a must-try. Its quite experience but worth every cent. Hui Xu (Zihui) was excellent and made me feeling back home. She was very patient and detailed about my stay. I had a great time because of her professionalism. Fantastic range of New Zealand wine.

Shanghai is the most foreigner-friendly city in China.
Shanghai is the most foreigner-friendly city in China. Visit it in other seasons would be more comfortable, but boy you do not want to miss Shanghai in Christmas! The whole city is decorated like a giant Christmas shopping centre, with all the instagram worthy experiences (plus your regular sightseeing stuff).

I stayed in Nanhui for 1 night as I was transferring – the stay was too short once you discover how much there is to offer in Shanghai – I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Shanghai PVG Airport Zhuqiao - the location of the hotel is good proximity to the airport and the free shuttle from the airport usually takes around 35 to 40 minutes to get to and from the hotel. If any wish to visit the center it takes around an hour by taxi but I recommend everyone to visit. Shanghai Old Street and The bund are must see places if you are there for 1 night – there is a wide variety of food and sweet options with lots of shops for souvenirs to take home – the people there are incredibly helpful as well in case you get lost (which is hard to do) but google translate is a must whilst you are there. In addition to this you will need AliPay, Wechat and Didi all 3 apps are vital for your stay in China and make sure you download them all beforehand.

Loved downtown Shanghai particularly the tour bus. Food was very cheap. Metro was marvellous for getting around cheaply and efficiently. It was a good mixture of traditional and modern. Found walking around worrying due to the electric scooters riding on pavements

Shanghai has the modern high-tech part and the older historical. Lots of spectacular skyscrapers which are dazzling at night time. The 1,000 tree development (expect it will be finished soon) near the main Train Station is something to see because of its attractive out of the box architecture.
If you're an archery enthusiast see where almost yearly vent of a stage in the Hyundai World Archery International competitions are held, better still go when the Shanghai stage is held and see the best archers in the world conmpete.
