AustraliaI was born in this city and came to visit after many years of living overseas. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to experience the city, but particularly to foreigners. The location is superb and well priced for what's on offer; but the main hook of this place is the BREAKFAST BUFFET! Absolutely delicious and AUTHENTIC food that reminded me of what my mother would make when I was a kid.
Please try the soup every single day and don't be afraid to ask about the toppings for it (onion,parsley/coriander,toasted bread bits,arepa,etc.) so you can experience the meal as a Colombian would.
If you stay here, the INCLUDED breakfast will be an opportunity to explore local cuisine and that's a huge plus in my books.

The weather is perfect, of course, no rain, 18 to 29° each day. The country club is mecca, an oasis, all encompassing luxury experience. The fine dining is unlike what I've experienced in paris, new york, toronto, Vancouver, other big cities. Unbelievably extraordinary quality and flavors of food. The service impeccable. The gym world class. The golf course amazing. The squash courts, oh my god!. The tennis courts were the best of the best, 14 red clay courts with a cadre of professionals to cater to your every need, ball boys, referees, instructors, professionals. Unbelievable. The room overlooked the golf course. Super quiet. And you cannot spend more than $200 Canadian dollars per day. The resort cost with the all you can eat buffet breakfast was $147 canadian. The massage 30 canadian. A latte $2.50 canadian. A bottle of wine, a reserve bottle, $30 canadian. Like I said, this place is more than half the price of Medellin, and three to four times cheaper than anything you'll find in the Caribbean or america. This place is golden. The location, the vegetation, the new developments, and the great clinics and medical centers make it an extremely great place to retire. But there is little respect for seniors. Shopping centers and restaurants have extremely noisy environments. We visited several good friends in their homes and had a wonderful time with them. Great and authentic colonial village. Ideal to walk through the streets and browse the different shops. has lots of amenities for tourists, such as electric tuc-tucs for those who don't want to walk the steep streets, but is a lively and living rural Colombian village and you get in touch with locals easily. Beautiful old town with a couple of nice parks. The adjacent areas of Giron have everything you need in terms of shopping amenities. The people were very warm and friendly. It's a very nice and safe colonial town in a very pretty area to be in. There are plenty of activities to do in the area and something for everyone. The food is good here but that's all of south America. Goat cheese and coffee seem to be the big items in this area. You can take a nice nature walk called the camino real to a smaller version of barichara called guane. The trail that town is mostly down hill, and you can shorten the walk even more by taking a taxi to a place out of town where the trail crosses the road. The views are very good and the birds and butterflies are everywhere. A bus leaves guane every 45 minutes back.to barichara. The main route from Bogota' to Bucaramanga goes right through it and can really congest the streets. These are old "horse" cart roads in town and the traffic can be "impressive" and difficult to manage. My favourite town in Colombia, I was supposed to stay 2 nights but added 2 more and could have stayed longer as well. The town is beautiful, people are very nice and welcoming, many amazing restaurants with veggie options as well, and plenty activities to do in the surrounding area.Guest review byMarieUnited Kingdom
