FinlandThis was the best accommodation we had in Cabo Verde (between S. Vicente and Sto. Antão). We stayed here first one night and on the return from Santo Antão we stayed 2 more nights. The staff is really great and friendly. The hotel has just a good size: 11 rooms. Rooms are spacious, beds are very comfortable, hot water worked well as well as wi-fi. TV is more complicated but the staff will explain to you. There are two terraces, one at the reception level and one on the rooftop (where's also a hot tub - jacuzzi). Breakfasts were excellent, with eggs cooked on demand, good fruits and cereals, great coffee, cakes, etc. (and the staff here again so friendly). I definitely recommend this hotel if you want to enjoy some privacy, with few guests and to be just in the city centre. We were so happy coming back here after staying 8 nights in Santo Antão.

The peace and energy you can feel here, I have never experienced anywhere. A place where you can only here the birds, the wind an waves. A place with raw beauty, that takes your breath away. Everything is so clean and well mantained. The Food is of a really high quality and delicious! The bread for the breakfast is served warm with really good jam and butter. Heaven! The Fruits and Juices are delicious! The dinner was everyday outstanding. Sofia and Fernando are passionate chefs! But let’s talk about the Staff… they really are something else and make this place stand out. Rosa is a true host with a big smile, very professional and always looking to please you. Elisangelo, Aleandro and Leo always very kind and with a big smile, ready to fulfill any wish of the guests. This people work with the heart and are so professional, with their big smiles - so contagious! It’s impossible not to carry them in your hearts. To thank them is an understatement, we absolutely fell in love with this peace an people.
The raw beauty of the beaches in the area are stunning, different from Sal Rei etc. but beautiful in it’s own way. With turtles and sharks, you can feel nature in a heartbeat. The Shuttle Service three times a qeek to go to Sal Rei is amazing! During the ride you can always meet locals, which take a ride to Bofareira (a small little village nearby) which is amazing and ecological. This place is really a hidden gem with a special energy and we will return for sure!

Everyone there is nice, kind and they do their job really well, even beyond the scope of their duties, I really felt like I was in a home atmosphere.
the surroundings of the hotel in the order list, the sandy beach would perhaps be more attractive, but the burial grounds of shells and volcanic stones enchanted me. the sandy beach is a few steps away. I WOULDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING AND THANK YOU AGAIN AND SEE YOU SOON

The hotel is very new and located in one of the best beach in Sal. The food is super delicious, varied and simple perfect. They have a lot of work out classes that are awsome, the quality is the same as a very good gym. The beach yoga is incredible!
The rooms are new and are extremly confortable. And the staff is super nice, and communicative. I really liked that the staff ate at the buffet with the guests, it really shows they care about the employees.

An absolutely wonderful time at this property. The staff were some of the best ever. Extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating to all our requests. They went well over and beyond what is usually expected. The property was cleaned every day with fresh towels and linen when necessary.
Not too far from the ocean. Lovely pools and restaurant facilities. It’s a really lovely place to totally relax and chill out. It comes highly recommended.

I liked the atmoshere of the property and we could stay all of us close together and store our kite and wing equipment next to our door on the grass. The staff is very helping all the time. We also liked very much the food also the breakfast as well.

Amazing breakfast, a lot of options, and staff really nice always ready to help with everything we need. The best hotel I have been so far.
My flight was late and they offer us a room to have a shower for 30 min at the end of the day.

We were only there for three nights to get some sun and...
We were only there for three nights to get some sun and snorkelling. If we’d stayed longer I would have gone on a couple of trips but there isn’t lots to do there. I went to relax and enjoy the sun and sea, I could have stayed one more day but not enough there to keep you busy for a week.
Some nice restaurants along the strip and the people weren’t too pushy which I loved even the guys selling on the beach.

The carnival time is one of the best times to enjoy Mindelo.
The carnival time is one of the best times to enjoy Mindelo. Very colourful, lots of excitement and great atmosphere. You should try the local food, cachupa and the kamoka ice cream. Sao Pedro, close to the airport is a great place to see the turtles. The fish museum is adjacent to the African market where you can get souvenirs.

Boa Vista is dirty and under development, I am sure it will be nice when it is finished. If you safely in an hotel I am sure it is fine but for an independent traveller it isn't. I tried to hire a bicycle or scooter through an outfit called Katlantik, who are totally useless and should be avoided like the plague so I had to walk everywhere, luckily it's a small island!. There are beach sports available but they focus on wing foiling and everything else is a bit too much trouble for them, one place did have an old fashioned hobie cat but it was broken (for the last two years) and nobody seemed motivated to get it fixed, they offered wing foiling as an alternative.
Most places only accept cash but when I was there none of the ATM machine's worked and getting currency from a bank takes between 30 minutes and two hours.
There are some nice restaurants and the sand is lovely. I was asked at the airport if I would recommned friends visit Cape Verde? NO

Perfect base to explore the whole island of Sal. Very close to the airport.
Especially nice experience for me was Pedra de Lume. There are nice and helpful people everywhere. I will certainly come back. Please note that this is not a beach or resort type of holiday like in Santa Maria.

There are many places to visit at this side of the island.
There are many places to visit at this side of the island. Xoxo, Cova crater, the walk between Cruzinha and Ponta do Sol, Paul valley, Synagoga are all fantastic. If you don't fear heights and like to hike up or down, then you find breathtaking views and hidden gems wherever you go.
Hiking routes are fairly signaled, though we lost the way sometimes - but every time we found something extra, a nice village, terraces, locals working in the gardens or on the fields.
The town is not big, but have some nice restaurants and bars to eat and drink.
Easy to find taxi or aluguer, though not many are running on Sundays.

It's wonderful brand new well equipped and modern apartment. For me the location was fantastic. It was meters from the beach and a supermarket and a great local restaurant. I always talked to town to meet the shuttles and drivers for hikes and the ferry.
There is a great balcony - I also cooked and used the washing machine - living room was really wide in comparison to majority of apartment rentals I had. I really loved it.

Beautiful view of the sunset from tidal pools where you can swim protected from the waves. My host arranged a reservation at a private restaurant in someone's home, with live music. It was delicious and a great experience.
The town is a little dirty. I didn't stay long enough to really know the town, I'm sure it has its gems.

Lovely small town by the coast close to mountain trails. We stayed 5 nights but would have happily stayed another couple of nights.
Good restaurants in town including an authentic Italian place run by an Italian and serving home-made pasta with tables on his terrace. He has a wonderful model town, that he has made himself, on display for you to look at while waiting to order. Casa Maracuja served good local cuisine and we also enjoyed the food at Paladar where they serve cachupa. We had a rental car, but there were also alughers available for transport to Porto Novo, the ferry port.

Beirona/ Murdeira is a beautiful place, definitely worth choosing if you want to relax on the beach/ by the pool without crowds of people around you. There’s just one shop here ( it has an ATM which is a huge advantage), but it’s well stocked. If you’re not a fan of big resorts, but want a laid back holiday, be sure to visit.

Santa maria= no stress.
Lovely place... Can be expensive in certain restaurants, but also affordable in othere. Very lovely beaches, bars, restaurants etc.
You meet alot of people from all over the world..
Good for solo travellers, you'll meet other solo travellers too.
Loved it,i would come back.
