HungaryThat was really a fantastic stay! The staff was very kind, helping us in an early check-in. The rooms are big, clean and the view is really amazing. The roof-top bar was extremely good for relaxing and swimming and we also enjoyed their dinners, as well. Wide selection of wines (especilly red wines). Highly recommended!

Loved our room, a bungalow with terrace and chairs looking towards the sea. Good restaurant, breakfast and evening meals, especially breaded prawns in coconut sauce! We also ate at restaurant across the road which we enjoyed too. The pool was wonderful with great sunbeds. Sound of the waves splashing onto the shore! From the hotel there is an amazing nature walk adjacent to the shore leading up to the lighthouse, where there are great views in both direction. Very few people seem to find this!

Beautiful hotel right on a great beach. They were generous with amenities, and a pleasure to chat with about anything.
They have water toys for hire right by the beach, as well as complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. Everything was truly great.

We stayed in Miramar neighborhood this time and really enjoyed it. Old Town San Juan was an easy quick ride away and was as nice as ever. We took a cruise from San Juan which is our favorite cruise embarcation port. The T Mobile district is nice. Olimpo Court hotel was very nice and several restaurants nearby were great.

The entertainment staff made you feel welcomed. The dining was excellent. Great food and service. We were impressed. Thanks to the staff in the Rose Hall Dining area especially Darren and Trudy Ann. Rooms were kept clean and tidy. We enjoyed the karaoke too.

A relaxed beach town, and major step-off point for trips to Saona Island. The place is buzzing at the start and end of the day when island trips depart and return, but otherwise it's relaxed and friendly. Plenty of places to eat and drink at night. Overall, far more liberty to wander and take trips than if you're stuck at a resort :-)

The beaches are fantastic and the drives around the area are beautiful. We found the restaurant options limited, but maybe we just did not explore adequately. El Limón nice, but it is very muddy and very slippery. Make sure you have very good hiking shoes and are ready for a legitimate hike. People who took horses there looked miserable and did the horses. If you do it do not take a guided trip. I would just go on your own. The beaches are beautiful. Be careful driving onto the Semana Peninsula, we got hit by a speed trap and had to pay $80 on the spot or go to jail. It was a scam but really had no way to fight it.

Food was not good. Service at the Buffet could have been much better. Rooms need attention. Lights need to be brighter, fans need controls, our door lock needed repair to lock. No water pressure in sink. The resort was attractive & kept clean.

My favorite spot in Kingston, Jamaica was Emancipation Park. The park was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and offered a great place to relax and reflect.
Where did you eat?
I ate at The Blue Room at the Pegasus Hotel, which offered excellent service and a great atmosphere. I also enjoyed eating at KFC, which is very popular in Jamaica and noticeably different from KFC in the U.S.
Is getting around Kingston easy?
Yes, getting around Kingston was extremely easy. Transportation was readily available, and navigating the city was convenient.
What are some fun activities for solo travelers like you?
Some fun activities for solo travelers include visiting Bob Marley’s Nine Mile for admission and a guided tour, enjoying a limestone bath and massage, and experiencing bamboo rafting, which was both relaxing and enjoyable.

Negril itself is absolutely beautiful, the beach is pristine, and many bars along the shore let you use their chairs and umbrellas for free as long as you order food or drinks, which is a great perk. Getting around, however, can be pricey. If you plan to explore beyond the beach, you’ll likely need a car or taxis, and I found taxi prices extremely high (for example, a 7‑mile/9‑km ride to the Blue Hole was quoted at 150-200 USD). Renting a car can be a good option if you’re comfortable with more aggressive driving and driving on the left.
A helpful tip is to pay in Jamaican dollars (JMD) whenever possible as using USD often ends up being more expensive, as prices tend to be rounded up. Food options in the area were somewhat limited and became repetitive after a few days, with many restaurants offering similar dishes like jerk chicken, curry chicken, and rice and peas. The food was also quite greasy and not very vegan‑ or vegetarian‑friendly, and fresh fruit wasn’t as widely available as expected. That said, the beach is truly stunning, and you can easily spend your days relaxing and enjoying the water.
