- From MDL 2,879.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.1Good - What previous guests thought, 39 reviewsThis is a beautiful place to stay. Even though it is a bit remote, it still has many comforts. It had a beautiful pool on extensive grounds that are well maintained. The staff was very attentive whenever we needed something. We just ate there, since it was quite a drive to get to other options, and the food was good. There's a large number of cool Oropendola birds that hang out there, making an unearthly wake up call at sunrise, which I found quite pleasant. It took us a little extra effort to find because Google Maps doesn't show the dirt road that must be traveled to get there, so we had to do a little more exploration to find it. There's a sign on the main road which shows the dirt road turnoff. Eventually you reach a very small wooden bridge leading to a pair of concrete tracks into the jungle, so the road is minimal on the final approach to the resort.Guest review byStephenUnited States

Beautiful property off the main road.
Beautiful property off the main road. Only there for one night on our way down to Cuenca. Would have liked to stay longer and enjoy the pool area. Breakfast was phenomenal! Tim also gave us invaluable information regarding our planned drive down to Cuenca which almost certainly saved us from a much longer and potentially disastrous travel day.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Puyo has a lot to see and experience, much of it can be found as walking tours around town. And the people are friendly and helpful (Which is the most favorable thing about beautiful Ecuador.) Expect rain at times, and the litter situation can be bothersome.Guest review byPastorockCanada - 4.0

Breakfast has fruit, juices, coffee and much more than you expect, but the food served in restaurant must be improve, in quantity and variety. The cabins are so expensive for the accommodation which provide, specially, the tiny and small beds in the second floor, with out any other simple and cheap furniture to store your clothes. Bat towels are older, needs to be replace and improve these quality, if you are paying for a luxury hotel spa in Papallacta area.Guest review bySantiago IzquierdoEcuador - 8.0

we are already in Ecuador for the second time and have never made it to the rainforest yet, except for a really bad one day tour we took from Banos, so we were quite excited for Misahualli. maybe too excited. the village is cute, but you have seen it in like 20 minutes. you'll see some monkeys being fed by tourists (which you should not, but they still do) and you can book trips to various things. We were not so lucky with our second rainforest tour too so we were quite dissapointed. they charged us 120 dollars for a 5 hours walk through the forest and a lunch package that contained 2 white breads with one slice of cheese and a batch of peanut butter. I think you can have great time here if you either really seek for relaxation, hanging in hammocks, do nothing (Restaurants: we really liked the cute Mexican place with amazing quesadillas and pizza and the little Cafe Resto Papakuna!), or wanting to go on crazy trips and tours and that's super your thing. other than that one day Misahualli is perfectly enough.Guest review byChantalSwitzerland - 8.0

The city has a terrific tourist park that includes tropical plants and animals as well as cultural demonstrations. Another attraction is a series of restaurant/bars along the river just past the bridge that are easily and cheaply reached by cab. We ate good food there at the Safari restaurant, and enjoyed Che Carlitos Cevicheria and a Mexican restaurant in the town center. We also did a four-day river Amazon watershed trip that was simply terrific. On the other hand, this is a frontier town and a bit uncomfortable to walk around in. But we walked around a lot at night with no problems.Guest review byCharlesUnited States - 10.0

Lago Agrio was a great town to stop in on the way to the Amazon. I’m glad I planned a night there on either side of my trip to recover and not travel too much every day. There’s lots of restaurants and the city felt pretty safe to walk around. I wouldn’t suggest traveling here unless you are using it as a stop along the way, but it’s the perfect kind of town to stop in to break up the travel a little.Guest review byArielUnited States - 10.0

Be sure to take a late afternoon/early evening ride on the Napo River to appreciate the area and afterwards sample the local dish Maito de pescado- a whole river fish grilled in banana leaves served with lemon slices, a side of tomato and red onion salad, and plantains with a glass of local guayusa tea. We paid $5 for the complete meal including an added liter of cold beer.Guest review byKathrynUnited States - 6.0
The town is relatively large and busy.
The town is relatively large and busy. It's not a primary tourist town like baños or Puyo but it's full of local restaurants and there's a nice natural park almost in the centre of town. At night the town didn't feel as safe as some of the more tourist focused towns but it's a gateway to some great Amazon jungle destinations.Guest review byPhilipUnited Kingdom
