AustraliaExciting experience and stay at this fancy hotel. Santiago warmly welcomed me at arrival and showed me everything I need to know and use on my room. Sharon from the receptionist area made me feel safe while teaching me how to get to the nearest metro station and informing me how to stay alert on the street. Breakfast was amazing spread and allow you to take it slow over more than 2 hours.
Hotel bar serves decent food and cocktail. It could get pretty cold overnight even with heater on, so get ready with warm pyjamas.

This is the most unique place we have ever stayed.
This 250 year old hosteria/ hotel is an incredible experience.
We had a room in the oldest part of the hotel. The ambiance and detailing was superb. Our room had a seperate seating area with open fire , but alas it wasn’t cold enough to light but there is also in-wall heating and the room was super cozy. The bed sooo comfortable like sleeping on a cloud.
Even though its close to a main road once inside you would never know- it is totally quiet. We slept so well.
The whole hotel is full of the owners antique art and collectables. Its like a living Museum. You can take a tour with a staff member to hear about the history and impressive collection.
The restaurant food was very high standard. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet.
We enjoyed an spa treatment and 2 hours in the wet spa area. The spa is absolute magical wonderland.
There is a courtyard with friendly rabbits and peacocks. A beautiful touch!
The staff were excellent in all regards.
We loved our stay!

The hotel customer services was excellent.
They always were happy to help.
The hotel has their own taxis, which made easier for us to travel around Quito without any problems any time we wanted. The buffet breakfast had a great variety of fresh food.
We also used the gym and the games room.
The location of the hotel was great. I have been in this hotel before and always works really well.

I had such a restful stay here last night. The room was wonderfully quiet, which made it easy to get a full night’s sleep. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the sheets were soft and luxurious—such a simple detail, but it made all the difference. I woke up feeling refreshed and grateful for the peaceful atmosphere. I had a guide for hikes around Chimborazo. I was coming from sea level, so I was limited to less than 4000m for the first couple of days (and some people experience altitude symptoms at less than that). If I had stayed longer I could have done a couple interesting hikes on Chimborazo itself - I was fine after two days here.

Alausi is a very pleasant town There is great hiking nearby and at the Dunes nice walks and hirse back riding and dune buggies Alausi has good restaurants and a really excellent coffee bar which serves delicious crepes The train was cancelled but in truth I think we enjoyed walking around the town where the boys were offerred a few free billiard games at the bottom of the huge statue in the centre of town where a friendly man gave them tips on playing a better game Alsusi felt safe and friendly and we will probably visit there again

Quito is a vibrant, active and accessible city. It is well maintained and has an excellent public transportation system. There is plenty to see and do in the Centro Historico as well as the more modern areas near the parks farther north. Take a chance on a 3 course 3 dollar lunch that can be found all over.

Come to Riobamba if you want to climb/bike on Mt. Chimborazo and/or visit the markets on Saturday. The downtown is interesting, worth a few hours, but does not cater to tourists. It is a city for Ecuadorians living their lives. The markets on Saturday are amazing. They are some of the most authentic, local markets we've visited. Very little for tourists, just real stuff for real Ecuadorians. If you are interested in climbing the mountain plan on time to get use to the altitude. Riobamba is a good base camp for a few days to begin this process.

The only reason to stay here was to get an early bus to the Quilotoa loop. Walked round and there were zero attractions to visit. Even the churches were shut but that may have been due to the State of Emergency. Didn't eat out because I didn't see anywhere open I fancied eating in.

This is a must see beautiful place.
This is a must see beautiful place. The drive to Quiatola has some of the most spectacular views in Ecuador. The views at Quiatola are breathtaking. Be prepared to pay a nominal per person fee to get into the park at Quiatola.
