AustraliaWe had a wonderful stay. Our visit to Luxor coincided with our wedding anniversary and the Steigenberger made us feel very special by upgrading our room. They even left a special surprise in our room with a “Happy Anniversary” sign and handmade love-heart on our bed!! So special. It seemed that the staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was eggsellent (!!) and the poolside bar service T sunset was perfect. Thank you Steigenberger Nile Palace, we will always remember our lovely stay at your hotel !!

The staff and the restaurant. In the evening, the restaurant is like paradise with a view over Luxor on the other bank. Many people, foreigners & Egyptians alike, come for dinner or just a beer after work. The food is delicious. This morning I went by taxi to the Valley of the Kings, I asked for it at reception. The driver was punctual at 5:30, meaning I was on-site for the opening and could enjoy being there alone in the tumbs at sunrise from 6 to 7am. The taxi driver was respectful and never tried to scam more unwanted services or backschich out of me. The staff prepared a breakfast box to take away, which at first I didn't want, but was happy to find and eat in the taxi. In the afternoon they let me have a nap, shower and pack my luggage, checking out at 6pm to take my train to Aswan.

Everything. Most of all the staff. Karin the manager was a great help in organising our transfer from Hurghada and arranging some medicine when I got a stomach bug (from Hurghada not here). All the staff were so friendly and helpful and that will be our biggest memory from our trip. They arranged river crossings, taxis, a wonderful tour and took care of our every need.
The terrace from the rooftop restaurant is great and we had the warm pool to ourselves most of the time.
A big thank you to everyone for a great stay. Great value for money and highly recommended. We will be back to visit Aswan.

Honestly, I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but this hotel and its staff totally deserve a shoutout for their awesome service. Let me tell you, the place was clean and cozy. But what really made our stay top-notch was the staff—they were absolutely fantastic.
I gotta give a special shoutout to the owner's son. This guy went the extra mile to make us feel right at home. He'd show us around, and sometimes he'd even tag along to make sure we got the local prices. Talk about dedication, right? If you're looking for a place on the West Bank side of Luxor, I 100% recommend staying here.

Absolutely nice hotel on the West Bank of Luxor city. It's located in a good area where you can find local cafes, small product shops and different souvenir shops. Additionally it's easy to cross Nile to visit East Bank, because near you can find a lot of ferries on the shore.

Ancient part of Luxor is amazing.
Ancient part of Luxor is amazing. Definitely worth visiting and should be must when visiting Egypt. East bank is walkable, but West bank sightseeing must be done in organized tours or by a private shuttle/taxi. One thing that bothers a bit are people that are offering everything (fellucca, horse ride, taxi ride photos, souvenirs, excursions). Problem is almost everyone you see in the street will approach you and sometimes you need time to get rid of them. It is not huge problem, but you can't have a relaxed mind all the time. It's a part of culture, but it is much more emphasized than in Hurghada for example.

If you are looking for history, Luxor is the place to be.
If you are looking for history, Luxor is the place to be. Depending on your interests, you can spend a day and a half or more. We arrived in the afternoon, chilled, and then saw the light and sound show at the Karnal temple. The next day, we took a 7-hour private guided tour with lunch, accompanied by an excellent guide. That was sufficient for us. After relaxing in the evening, we left for Cairo. It was time well spent.

It was great to see the historical sites.
It was great to see the historical sites. However, it is a very dirty city. There were piles of garbage and horse droppings everywhere. Taxi drivers and sellers charge prices 3 times higher than normal and push hard for sales. It was tedious.
