Staying at La Laguna Gran Hotel was an absolute delight. The moment we walked in, we were captivated by the charm of the historic building and its elegant design. Our room was cozy, spotless, and full of character. But the real gem was the rooftop — watching the sunset over the rooftops of La Laguna was pure magic. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the old town, yet peaceful and calm. The staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel truly cared for. We only stayed one night, but it left a lasting impression. Can’t wait to come back!

We received an unexpected room upgrade with an outstanding view and plenty of space. The gardens are gorgeous, and although the location may initially seem 'far' from the center, it offers the perfect balance between tranquility and proximity to the lively parts of the city. As for visiting the island, the location is ideal, being relatively close to the must-see spots. Breakfast was also nice, offering a wide variety to choose from.

FAQs about hotels in Canary Islands

Eternal Spring in a Spainish Playground

Mention Spain’s Canary Islands and the talk automatically centres on the weather. The eternal spring climate makes booking your vacation easy. The year-round sun, endless beaches and remarkable volcanic landscapes are spread across 7 main islands and 13 in total.

Tenerife is the biggest island in the group, which also includes Spain’s tallest mountain at 3,718 metres, the volcanic Pico del Teide. This island also has the most number of hotels and resorts scattered along its 350 km of coastline. Booking.com can help you make the choice easier.

La Palma, nicknamed Pretty Island, is a good example of the dense forests and fertile valleys competing with desolate volcanic landscapes and a lack of natural water resources. Gran Canaria is the most diverse of all the Canary Islands and houses the largest population.

Agriculture, a traditional Canario pastime, has reemerged as an important economic pillar for the islands alongside the modern advancement of tourism. Snorkelling, windsurfing, endurance sports and golf draw sport enthusiasts while tempting wines and cheeses entice the gastronomes.

Tenerife has 2 airports both north and south, and Gran Canaria Airport is the other major entry point for international visitors. Whatever way you get there, it is clear that a trip to the Canaries is a trip to paradise.

On this trip, I really liked seeing Black-Winged Stilts on the Charco at Maspalomas, having lunch in the cave restaurant at the top of the Guyadeque valley, visiting the Museo Leon y Castillo in Telde and having lunch in a restaurant not used by tourists in the country above Teror which only served local Canary Island food (quite superb !), and lecturing on the history of the Miller family at the University of Las Palmas.

Very nice resort!

Very nice resort! There are a lot of things to do, with plenty of bars and restaurants offering local food. City transport on the island is perfectly arranged, and transfers to and from the airport can be done by bus. Traveling by car is not recommended during the high season, especially if you are going to Teide Mountain. The road is very narrow, and it is very difficult for two cars to pass. The best mode of transport is a motorbike (make sure to take your driving license with you) and hire one locally. There are plenty shops and malls with very good prices as well, so bring your big bags and money for shopping!

Playa de las Americas is a fabulous holiday resort for all,...

Playa de las Americas is a fabulous holiday resort for all, it has so much to do for people with all types of interests and has such a great holiday atmosphere. It's not a huge place but not too small either and it's very easy to get to know and fund your way around. It's great for people who like to walk, jog, cycle scooter or even just relax somewhere such as various beaches that are beautiful. There are a huge variety of places to eat and/or drink within easy walking distance from wherever you may be located in Las Americas. There are a number of places where children and young people have great holiday entertainment and good fun such as Siam Park very nearby in Costa Adeje. There is a Zoo which is only a short 10-15 minute bus journey up the hill the kids will love. Los Cristianos is a very short walk along the lovely promenade which is lovely with boat trips to see Whale's and Dolphin's. There is also a lovely beach where you can hire peddle boats and a popular kids park looking into the beach and harbour. Restaurants are plentiful with every variety of food and drinks. If you have never been to Playa de las Americas I recommend that you go because I think whoever you are you are sure to have a great holiday

We loved to be 10 minutes drive away from the very touristic area of Maspalomas and instead enjoy the view of maspalomas dune from the mountains. We enjoyed the drive to Pico de Nieves. The mountains are wonderful. Canyons and then pine trees. The view from Pico de Nieves and through the journey there is incredible. The dunes deserve a visit as well as puerto de mogan. But the mountains are a paradise.
